00:03 - Stephan, I wanna ask you about playing for Dan Quinn.
00:05 He makes the move to Washington.
00:09 For you, what was it like playing under Quinn in Dallas?
00:12 - He was a great coach.
00:13 He found a way to gel with the players and be hard on them.
00:18 - Yeah.
00:19 - You know, and I wasn't surprised how, you know,
00:22 the last four, three or four years,
00:23 Dallas defense has been playing at an elite level,
00:26 but he had a great opportunity to go to Washington
00:29 and be a head coach again, and I'm happy for him.
00:32 - Yeah.
00:32 - Yeah.
00:33 - So, it was a great year, you know,
00:35 just to be coached up under.
00:37 - For you, heading into free agency,
00:40 is that something that factors in?
00:41 Mike Zimmer's now gonna be the DC in Dallas,
00:44 or are we a little far out from figuring that all out?
00:47 - That's what I heard.
00:48 I don't know if that's official yet,
00:49 but that's what I heard,
00:50 but Zimmer's a great coach, old school guy.
00:54 All his defenses played great, you know,
00:57 when he coached him, so.
00:58 And that wouldn't be a bad thing to have him as a coach.
01:00 - Yeah.
01:01 Brandon, getting to play with Dak is,
01:04 it's an interesting, look,
01:05 Dak's getting judged on a different standard.
01:07 He was in the MVP race all season long,
01:10 but the back end of it didn't end in the result
01:14 that you guys wanted.
01:15 A couple of pick sixes in the first half against Green Bay,
01:18 but what was it like for you playing
01:19 alongside Dak this season?
01:21 - I mean, it was great.
01:22 I love Dak, like I told him,
01:24 and he became like a brother only, you know, in a short time.
01:28 I got a lot of respect for the way that he handled himself.
01:30 Obviously he gets judged
01:31 because we got that star on our helmet,
01:33 but at the end of the day,
01:34 the way that he's playing is at the highest level.
01:36 He can't do it by himself, you know what I mean?
01:38 He needs his guys around him to step up,
01:41 whether that be O-line, receivers, running backs.
01:44 You know, it takes everyone to kind of help him,
01:47 especially in the playoffs.
01:48 At the end of the day,
01:49 you need everybody on board doing their thing.
01:51 - I'm curious if I can just bring up the game
01:54 against Green Bay, where a team is on a heater
01:58 like they were, 'cause Jordan Love in that game
02:00 was just kind of clicking on all cylinders.
02:02 Is there a moment where you're like,
02:03 I don't know how we're gonna be able to stop this guy today?
02:06 'Cause that's the thing about football.
02:07 In a seven game series like basketball, right, or hockey,
02:10 the better team typically can win out,
02:12 and you guys had an incredible season,
02:14 but in that one game, they came out so on fire,
02:17 Stephon, to put you guys behind the eight ball early.
02:19 - I just think at the end of the day,
02:20 they played more physical than we did.
02:22 You know, they, it was able to establish the run early,
02:26 and you know, once you do that, you know,
02:29 the defense gotta play perfect.
02:31 So we couldn't stop the run.
02:32 You know, it set up the play action pass
02:34 and things like that, so.
02:35 You know, that's what it really comes down.
02:38 I think the most physical team is gonna win the game,
02:41 and they was that that day.
02:42 (upbeat music)
02:45 (bell ringing)
