Landlord Richard Peckham has recently taken over the Lord FitzClarence. It is coming up to their one year anniversary having taken over from Kingsleys and they have a weekend of celebration organised

00:00 So my name is Richard Peckham, I'm the new landlord here at the Lord Fitzclarency in Southsea.

00:04 This place was formerly known as Kingsey's, many people remember it as, but now of course we are a

00:09 very popular pub here in Osborne Road. About myself, born and bred in Portsmouth, I now live

00:15 in Southsea and I'm very excited about being here at the Lord Fitzclarency. So it's already been a

00:20 year here in this location, tell us a little about your journey here and what's going to be happening

00:27 this weekend. Okay so whilst it was known formerly as Kingsey's, I've always loved the bar, it's always

00:33 been a very popular place for people of a certain age over the age of sort of 25 to come along to,

00:37 really been a great place to come along to. When it changed into a bar and into a pub, it was very

00:43 exciting to see in Southsea, being open seven days a week. So I was really, really pleased to be off

00:48 the position at the end of December to come along here, really pleased indeed. Looking forward to

00:53 the future, it's got some really exciting things here and of course this weekend is our first year

00:58 birthday at the Lord Fitzclarency. So on both on the days, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we've got

01:03 live music, live DJs, great price on drinks, some real good offers and real good buzz and excitement

01:09 around the place. Great and you mentioned earlier about some of the changes that you had here,

01:14 could you talk us through? Yeah if you were to walk in here and your past experience was Kingsey's

01:20 and you would notice that we've got 11 big screens showing sports, we have a fantastic pool table

01:26 at the back and we've now got some pool teams. We've got a great dartboard as well, all fully lit,

01:31 nice plenty of area at the back there as well. A very large range of drinks to choose from,

01:38 lots of beers to choose from, a lovely carpet area, nice comfortable tables, nice booths as well.

01:42 So a real good comfortable feel throughout the week here at the Lord Fitzclarency. The message is
