Portchester Butchers has celebrated its first anniversary after opening up in the high street last year. The business was opened up by father and son duo, Jacob and David Smith, who have a long history in the industry.

00:04 It's been very busy, fantastic.

00:06 It's been apathetic, busy, as per usual.

00:10 British Pride 3 is the British record for most orders and sales, in my eyes.

00:15 Fortunately, very welcoming.

00:18 Great little high street, great little town.

00:20 And yeah, apart from that, it's been really good.

00:24 What was your best time of the year?

00:26 Best time of the year was Christmas for us. It was absolutely busy.

00:30 Early hours of the morning until late at night, if I can prove.

00:34 We've got great records for the previous butcher who was here for us.

00:38 And yeah, it's just been a great year, great Christmas really.

00:44 What have you enjoyed most about owning butchers?

00:47 Probably the customers.

00:51 They're just fantastic people.

00:52 I don't know, it's hard getting on.

00:54 What do you like most about owning butchers?

01:00 It's a nice experience to have a butcher shop.

01:03 I know, I've experienced having one all my life.

01:06 Fantastic. So, how's the year gone?

01:08 Very busy. Much busier than I thought it was going to be, but very good.

01:12 And what's been the best part of the year?

01:14 Having a day off on the other occasion.
