00:04 Manchester commuters were hit with delays and cancellations on the trains on the morning

00:09 of the 25th of January due to an overhead power failure at Piccadilly station.

00:14 National Rail announced shortly after 9am that engineers on the scene made repairs and

00:19 power was restored.

00:21 Manchester's first trans councillor will stand to be an MP against Labour's Lucy Powell at

00:25 the general election.

00:27 Liberal Democrat councillor Chris Northwood became Manchester's first trans councillor

00:32 when she won her local election in May 2023.

00:36 And finally, bus passengers in Middleton have been urged to check new stop locations as

00:41 the town's main station is to close for over a month.

00:44 A full closure of the bus station will come into effect on Sunday 4th February and work

00:49 will take place over five weeks.
