Former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin's wife, Toh Puan Na'imah Abdul Khalid pleaded not guilty at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Tuesday (Jan 23) to a charge of allegedly failing to declare her assets, which included Menara Ilham and several properties in the federal capital and Penang.

Sessions Court judge Azura Alwi fixed bail at RM250,000 and ordered for Na'imah to surrender her international passport pending the completion of the case.

The court fixed March 22 for mention.

00:12 The charge sheet states Naima had intentionally given a written statement under oath that
00:17 did not comply with the terms of notice under Section 36, Subsection 1, Subsection B of
00:24 the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.
00:28 The 67-year-old allegedly did not declare assets, as stated in Appendix A, which includes
00:33 two companies, Ilham Towers Senyum Berhad and Ilham Baru Senyum Berhad, two Mercedes-Benz
00:39 cars and eight properties.
00:42 The properties are Menara Ilham in Jalan Binjai, a house in Pesiaran Bukit Tunku, four lots
00:48 in Bukit Tunku, one lot in Penang and a house in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
00:54 Charged under Section 36, Subsection 2 of the MACC Act 2009, she can be jailed to a
00:59 maximum of five years and a fine not exceeding RM100,000 if convicted.
