The 45-year-old man wanted in connection with the death of 14-year-old Isabella Teelucksingh has surrendered to police.


TV6 News was told that the suspect presented himself to officials at the Homicide Bureau in San Fernando at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday.


He is expected to be questioned this week and give statements.


Following this, investigators will approach the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for instructions on how to proceed.

00:27 According to police reports, around 7pm on Sunday, Isabella, her 22-year-old brother
00:32 and his 20-year-old girlfriend were standing on Savory Road in Las Lomas No. 1.
00:37 They were waiting to confront a man whom they knew and who had allegedly robbed and beaten
00:42 a 55-year-old man that night at a mini-mart in the community.
00:46 The robbery victim had informed the family of what had transpired.
00:50 The group made their way to confront the suspect, however, Isabella had reportedly warned her
00:55 brother to leave the situation alone, a warning that was ignored.
01:00 When they arrived at the scene, the suspect emerged from some bushes holding a shotgun.
01:05 The brother confronted the man and Isabella attempted to pull him away.
01:08 However, on seeing the group, the suspect shot in their direction.
01:13 The pellets from the shotgun cartridge pierced Isabella's chest and also her head.
01:18 Budu was shot in the pelvic area.
01:21 The suspect then fled the scene through the bushes.
01:24 The victims were taken for medical treatment at the Chagones Health Facility where they
01:28 were stabilized before being transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
01:34 Isabella was declared brain dead while at the Mount Hope Hospital and taken off life
01:38 support on Monday morning.
01:41 Budu is said to be in a stable condition.
