00:00 I'm Kevin O'Reilly, I'm the Managing Director for OneResourcing, which is the recruitment partner for London Gatwick Airport.
00:06 As a local business, we are at Gatwick sometimes two to three times a day, and I have an electric vehicle and so do my team.
00:17 So for us it's going to be really beneficial to have a facility like this where we can come to the airport, meet our customers, meet our candidates,
00:25 and whilst we're doing that we can charge our vehicles at the same time. So it's an excellent opportunity for us and it's a really good facility.
00:32 And has there been a frustration to not having a facility like this in recent years?
00:36 There has been because essentially you have to plan ahead. Now I can actually plan to come to Gatwick, meet my customers, meet my candidates and charge my vehicle at the same time.
00:46 And how important is the environment now getting to that zero by 2030?
00:51 Well part of Gatwick Airport's plan, as you can hear, is to become carbon neutral by 2030.
00:58 So I think this facility here is going to help us try to reduce that and get to our targets by that time.
01:05 I'm Nick Broome from Preview Visual Communications Group.
01:12 We're a local company that service nationwide vehicle fleets of all types, from emergency services through to corporate, commercial,
01:19 and we do signage and graphics for all manner of installations.
01:23 I think quite simply this is a fantastic step forward, a fantastic initiative by Gatwick,
01:28 but it gives us a facility now and the ability to be able to charge our vehicle fleet en route to our customers.
01:35 We're only 10 miles down the road. We have customers in the local area but more importantly we serve nationwide.
01:41 And there's been nothing else like this locally to be able to fast charge anything.
01:45 So I think the adoption of electric across our fleet and people around us have been improved by it.
01:51 The fact that you can recharge yourself with the food and drink facilities here too is an added bonus. I think it's amazing.
01:57 I'm Daniel Topp. I live in Yorkshire in Wakefield.
02:01 I've just flown in from Cancun, so straight off a nine hour flight here.
02:07 And how convenient is it to have this new grid serve electric port?
02:11 Really convenient. I only had around 55 to 60 miles left on the battery,
02:15 so just coming straight out of the long stay straight into the grid service has been really handy and it's really useful.
02:20 And how long have you had it on?
02:22 Not too long really. Only since December. So relatively new. But yeah, so far so good.
02:28 And you're finding it a good idea?
02:30 I am, yeah. No sort of range anxiety or anything like that. So yeah, it's all been good. So far so good.
02:36 Yeah, well I think it's, you know, I know what the government have done in terms of pushing back 2035,
02:42 but for me it's about, you know, what's right for the planet.
02:45 And for me, I'm a big believer in electric and green energy, so this is 100% green energy as well.
02:52 So, you know, it ticks all the boxes for me. So, yeah.
