00:26Join us as we approach All Hallows' Nights
00:34to mark the mysterious in-between time,
00:39a time belonging neither to this world or that beyond,
00:45when the doors to the other world are open
00:47and the spirits roam abroad.
00:50Since time immemorial, Christians and pagans alike
00:56have met this night to remember and honour those who have passed,
01:02and over time these customs merged,
01:05giving rise to our modern celebration of Halloween.
01:11Tonight we gather to carry out the old folk custom of souling,
01:16when disguised revellers would visit ale-houses by night
01:22to perform their strange tale of death and resurrection.
01:28The tale we shall tell is one that has come down through the ages.
01:34The tale of a great huntsman whose spirit haunts the ancient woodlands.
01:39This is the legend of Hearn the Hunter.
01:46In times long past there was a great hunter named Hearn,
01:51mighty and skilled the king's admiration he earned.
01:55Through the great forest of Windsor they rode bow in hand
02:00to hunt for the deer that roamed the king's land.
02:04This is the man who
02:18is the популяр who is a part of the83 team.
02:24He doesn't have the gentle 군不垢ino magic.
02:27Heaven is able to enhance the deep lung
02:29to suit the period of time,
03:31Save him, you huntsman, the king, he did cry.
03:36The jealousy meant that they left him to die.
03:41But an answer came swift to his cries of dismay.
03:45The sound of a stranger through the forest was nearing,
03:49and from the trees came a wizard who entered the clearing.
03:54I can heal him, said the wizard, but the price will be high.
04:00Refuse what I say, and I'll leave him to die.
04:05MRS.
04:43With much fear and dread, the stag's severed antlers were placed on Hearn's head.
04:55The wizard took Hearn to his forest bower home, and with spells and potions he cured flesh and bones.
05:03The king was overjoyed to have Hearn back, but his cheer turned to sorrow as he remembered his pact.
05:12For although Hearn had been cured of all of his ills, the bargain had left him bereft of his skills.
05:21Realising the price that had been paid, Hearn fled to the forest, alone and afraid.
05:27The children said Hearn had the oak tree crows.
05:57His spectral hunters would meet and ride through the forest to an eerie hoofbeat.
06:07And even today in Windsor Great Park, all people are warned, keep away in the dark!
06:16For at midnight, in moonlight, the great oak will part, revealing Hearn and the wild hunt, and the spectral white heart.
06:26What would he die seldom know?
06:31It would be.
06:34The way Hearn refers to me when Hearn went to the road with gamma, and wherever he is
