00:00 No Boundaries, a 39 episode series written by Horace Wilson,
00:05 aired in the Caribbean from 1985 to 1987.
00:09 Now Wilson is in this country and has teamed up with Trinidadian-Canadian actor and director Marvin Ismail
00:16 to breathe new life into the story.
00:18 Horace, a gentleman in South called Terrence and myself,
00:23 we decided to produce this because we believe in the writing,
00:28 we believe in the story, we believe in the characters.
00:32 Both Wilson and Ismail see it as important to the culture and the people of this country.
00:38 But the old episodes might not be a good gauge in terms of what you can expect from the new film,
00:44 and that's in part due to Wilson's admitted growth.
00:47 When I did the first series, I didn't particularly, I was writing instinctively.
00:56 What I meant is I had no training, but since then I have gone abroad,
01:01 I've studied at the American Film Institute, I know a lot more now.
01:06 So what is happening with this new series is that it is much more professional.
01:12 Tarilai Bevel is set to play Paula, who she describes as a go-getter
01:17 trying to establish herself career-wise amid dealing with internal conflicts stemming from family issues.
01:24 The character that I'm in right now is honestly very reflective of who I am in my own journey,
01:31 so I believe that I will bring a lot of truth to it.
01:35 While Ruby Paris is embodying the role of Abigail with her family's full support,
01:40 she says her character is different from her usual energetic personality.
01:45 I enjoy the challenge of stillness and silence and that quiet rage,
01:53 but the quiet rage that forges a motivation to get things done.
01:57 And Mark, Ishmael's biological son, is in from the United States. He's playing Sunil.
02:03 I think they just needed someone accent-free for this.
02:07 Looking forward to making my film feature debut. This will be my first.
02:15 The 1980s series was seen by around six million people,
02:19 but the producers are seeking to get international distribution for the film.
02:24 So far, Wilson says feedback has been good from an attorney he contacted in Los Angeles.
02:30 She said this is an emotional pile driver, and she thinks if it is well done,
02:39 that we are going to get international distribution for it.
02:45 Shooting starts on January 5th and is expected to end on January 20th
02:50 with a cast of 27, excluding extras.
02:54 Our team, we're looking for extras, so if you're interested,
02:57 please send an email to NoBoundariesMovie@gmail.com.
03:02 Come on down, be a part of this. We want to see your faces.
03:08 We want the world to see faces like ours out there.
03:11 We want to take part in being from the Caribbean.
03:15 Or you can call 685-5678.
03:20 The producers want the movie to premiere in May 2024 in Toronto, Washington, D.C.,
03:26 and all the Caribbean islands.
