00:00 The cost of living crisis has really hit working families.
00:05 They've had more of their money taken in taxes,
00:08 the highest tax burden in 70 years,
00:11 25 tax rises just in this parliament,
00:14 inflation eating into wages as well,
00:17 and higher mortgages and rents.
00:20 So I want taxes on working people to be lower,
00:24 but I would say to the Prime Minister and the Chancellor,
00:27 you've had 13 years,
00:29 we've got the highest tax burden in 70 years,
00:32 this is too little and too late.
00:33 I'm not gonna take any lectures from the Conservatives
00:36 on pushing up borrowing when debt under their watch
00:40 after 13 years has reached 100% of GDP.
00:45 I've been really clear that our fiscal rules
00:47 say that we won't borrow for day-to-day spending.
00:49 We, unlike the Conservatives,
00:51 will bring debt down as a share of our national economy,
00:54 and then only subject to that,
00:55 do what every other country around the world is doing,
00:58 investing alongside business in the things to unlock growth,
01:01 investment, and productivity.
