00:00We Conservatives have set out a very clear plan that the Chancellor could adopt in this week's budget.
00:05It's about properly funding defence, the issue that he himself resigned over,
00:10but he's got to get to 3% of GDP, no messing around.
00:14It's about properly funding defence on a sustainable basis, dealing with the deficit.
00:19That means not just putting up taxes, but actually making some of those hard decisions to cut government spending
00:25and then deal with the youth jobs emergency.
00:27We've got over a million young people desperately looking for a job.
00:31Why are there not more jobs in the economy?
00:33Because of Rachel Reeves' jobs tax in their first two budgets, because of Labour's red tape,
00:38and because the economy is not growing properly.
00:40So Conservatives set out a very clear alternative.
00:43The Chancellor should be adopting that this week.
00:46And in particular, if he does not fund defence properly the acid test of this budget, he should be resigning.
