00:03 With a new offensive coordinator last week,
00:15 the Carolina Panthers came in and made a number of changes
00:18 off the bat.
00:19 And I think some of these changes
00:20 are going to have an impact this week
00:22 also in helping them against the Indianapolis Colts.
00:25 They first went to basically 100% 11 personnel.
00:28 So they weren't substituting different personnel groupings
00:30 on and off the field.
00:31 They were 79% 11 personnel prior to last week's game
00:36 where they went to 100%.
00:37 They also basically just had Young in shotgun
00:40 the entire game, 96% shotgun rate.
00:43 So they were mostly shotgun 11 personnel
00:45 and made life a lot easier on Bryce Young
00:48 from a quarterbacking perspective.
00:50 In addition, one of the things that they were doing offensively
00:53 was they were throwing the football significantly more
00:56 outside of the numbers.
00:58 Prior to this game, they were throwing the football
01:00 outside of the numbers only 47%.
01:04 In this game, they went up to 65%.
01:07 That's by far the highest rate of passing the football
01:10 outside of the numbers.
01:11 It's ahead of teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and the LA
01:15 Chargers and the Seattle Seahawks.
01:17 65% is even higher than those teams.
01:20 That is one area where the Indianapolis Colts defense
01:23 struggles to cover wide receivers outside the numbers.
01:26 They rank number 31 in success rate, number 30 in EPA
01:30 per attempt, and number 27 in yards per attempt allowed.
01:33 Two passes thrown outside the numbers.
01:36 Passes inside the numbers, they rank number 19 in EPA
01:39 and 18 in success rate.
01:41 So this is just a slightly below average defense dealing
01:44 with those passes between the numbers.
01:46 But when you throw outside the numbers, significantly worse.
01:49 I think this change is going to actually help them
01:52 a lot more this week against the Colts
01:54 than it did last week against the Texans.
