An 8 year old boy almost lost his eyesight after an incident involving fireworks on Sunday afternoon. Bradley and his friend were in a field close to their homes when an object was allegedly thrown towards them, which one of the boys picked up. Both were taken to hospital, and Gwent police are appealing for witnesses.

A nurse who intervened in a fatal stabbing in a local shop has been awarded the Queen’s gallantry medal. Lisa Way was injured when she confronted a mentally ill woman who was stabbing customers at a co-op in Rhondda Cynon Taff. She was awarded the medal alongside two others, including John Rees who died during the incident.

Cardiff Council have said they will continue with their electric vehicle charging point plans, hoping to have more than 5000 across the city by 2030. The UK government have proposed putting back banning the sale of non-electric cars from 2030 to 2035, but some Cardiff councillors have said they will press on with EV plans.
