00:00 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the hardest missions in
00:15 the Assassin's Creed video games.
00:30 Number 10.
00:31 Family Politics - Assassin's Creed Syndicate
00:40 All you need to do for this mission is steal a carriage and drive the last Maharaja of
00:43 India, Duleep Singh, around London to talk to various politicians.
00:48 It sounds easy enough, but for the plan to work you need to take a royal carriage from
00:51 a heavily guarded courtyard.
00:53 But one of the additional mission requirements for 100% sync is that you take the carriage
00:57 without entering the courtyard, which initially looks impossible.
01:04 All you actually have to do is wait around for somebody to drive a carriage out of the
01:08 courtyard and steal it that way.
01:10 But this strangely designed mission left many gamers struggling to figure that out and abandoning
01:15 the optional objectives.
01:22 Number 9.
01:23 Nothing is True - Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag
01:33 By the early 18th century, the colonial assassins were based primarily in Tulum.
01:37 Edward Kenway follows directions given to him by an assassin, the pirate James Kidd,
01:42 and finds their base heavily restricted.
01:47 You're not allowed to kill any of the assassins or Edward will immediately desynchronize,
01:52 which also happens if you get spotted.
01:54 You can knock them out, luckily, and you'll need to do that at least three times to get
01:58 100% here.
02:00 But working out how to navigate the beach, memorizing patrols, and remaining unseen is
02:04 a true exercise in patience.
02:06 And after all that, Edward doesn't even join the assassins until much later.
02:17 Number 8.
02:18 In and Out - Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
02:26 Widely recognized as the hardest game in the series, Brotherhood is full of missions where
02:30 if Ezio gets detected, you'll instantly fail the mission.
02:34 Worse, if you fail the optional objectives once, you need to redo the entire mission
02:38 as they don't reset when you reload a checkpoint.
02:41 For this particular mission, Ezio has to sneak through Roman ruins to get to a party hosted
02:45 by Juan Borgia, a cardinal known as the Banker.
02:55 You have to tail him all the way through the level and then, at the end, assassinate him
02:59 from a bench for full sync.
03:01 Make liberal use of the courtesans to blend in and distract guards for the best chances
03:05 of getting through this mission painlessly.
03:13 Number 7.
03:14 The Tournament - Assassin's Creed Unity
03:25 Multiplayer was introduced back in Brotherhood, but Unity's big unique selling point was
03:28 its four-player co-op.
03:30 Most of the side missions are designed around having multiple people playing at once, including
03:34 this one that realistically needs all four players.
03:37 In the tournament, you have to collect 34 flags, fight a gauntlet of enemies, raise
03:41 four more flags, and assassinate four targets, sometimes with time constraints.
03:49 However, today it's nearly impossible to find people to play online with, so if you want
03:56 to do this mission, you'll have to solo it, which is extremely difficult.
04:00 It is possible, but it takes a lot of skill and patience to pull off.
04:09 Number 6.
04:10 The Goddess's Hunt - Assassin's Creed Odyssey
04:19 Early on in Odyssey, you'll encounter Daphne, who gives you this very long quest to travel
04:23 the length and breadth of ancient Greece, slaying its legendary animals.
04:27 But before you get the full quest, you need to prove yourself by killing the Caledonian
04:31 Boar.
04:32 Unfortunately, the Caledonian Boar is easily the hardest animal the entire quest offers,
04:37 and can be so hard that lots of players have to leave and come back to fight it later.
04:49 Not great when the quest is in one of the starting areas.
04:52 The main issue is that the boar regularly spawns lots of smaller boars that will mob
04:56 you.
04:57 If only it was on its own, this would be easy.
05:05 Number 5.
05:07 Assassinating Sibrand - Assassin's Creed
05:18 The controls make the first game challenging no matter what you're doing, but particularly
05:21 the assassinations.
05:23 However, there's another layer to this mission, where Altair goes to the docks of Acre to
05:27 assassinate the crusader Sibrand.
05:29 Fans of the original game will remember that Altair can't swim, and falling in the water
05:33 is instant death.
05:42 It's all too easy to make one platforming mistake and have to start from scratch.
05:47 As well as that, the docks are populated with NPCs that will push you if you get too close,
05:52 potentially sending you to a watery grave before you get anywhere near your target.
06:03 Number 4.
06:04 Stormfortress - Assassin's Creed Rogue
06:14 This huge warship isn't just the hardest ship to defeat in Rogue, it might be the hardest
06:18 legendary ship the franchise has ever given us.
06:20 You've got to be extremely skilled with the Morrigan to defeat it, staying out of
06:24 range of its immensely powerful cannons, but not so far away that it starts to use its
06:28 mortars, which release burning oil and set the water on fire.
06:39 Remaining behind the Stormfortress is the only realistic way to survive, unless you're
06:43 just that good at dodging mortar strikes.
06:46 And make sure you fully upgrade to the Morrigan before going anywhere near it.
06:58 Number 3.
06:59 Hell on Wheels - Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
07:08 There are four of Leonardo's war machines Ezio is sent to destroy, and it's a close
07:11 call between whether the tank or the flying machine is the hardest.
07:15 But the tank mission is notoriously hard if you want to get 100% on it, as you can't
07:19 take any damage while piloting the vehicle.
07:22 As always, there is a trick to pulling off the final gauntlet where you have to fight
07:26 multiple enemy tanks.
07:35 Simply stay just outside the arena and slowly blow them up through the door before they
07:39 aggro.
07:40 If you don't want to get 100%, the mission is much simpler, though the long stealth section
07:45 before you reach the tank remains a chore.
07:53 Number 2.
07:54 The Siege of Charlestown - Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag
08:11 It may be one of the most popular games in the series, but few would disagree that Black
08:15 Flag has too many tailing missions.
08:17 The bulk of its missions seem to be tailing missions, and it even has multiple ship tailing
08:22 missions.
08:23 The Siege of Charlestown is one such level, as Edward needs to slowly follow another ship
08:28 through a swamp, periodically leaving the Jackdaw to take out guards.
08:37 Not only is this very tedious, but the other characters tell Edward repeatedly that taking
08:42 the Jackdaw into a swamp is a terrible idea because it could easily get stuck.
08:46 And remember to skin those alligators for 100%.
09:14 Number 1.
09:15 The Battle of Bunker Hill - Assassin's Creed III
09:27 Is it even possible to cross the battlefield at Bunker Hill without taking damage?
09:31 Not to mention that after you've done all that, you need to assassinate John Pitcairn,
09:35 the British commanding officer, from a flagpole?
09:37 Yes, it is possible, but it's not easy.
09:40 The secret to crossing the battlefield is to ignore the sounds of the weapons and, instead,
09:45 watch the army to see when they all fire their guns at once, moving just after the volley
09:50 hits.
09:59 NPCs will also helpfully shout out when you need to take cover.
10:02 After that, there's an obscure but well-designed platforming route to reach the flagpole and
10:07 assassinate Pitcairn without him seeing Connor.
10:15 Let us know in the comments which you managed to 100% sink.
10:35 Bye!
