00:00 I'm Ariella Sklees and it has been a long hot summer for Texas, but I'm happy to report change is on the way.
00:08 Some sweet relief from the heat. Now we've seen some thunderstorms and we're going to continue to watch the chance for storms from Dallas to Houston throughout our Saturday, but there's still plenty of locations that will be challenging record temperatures like El Paso 102 the exclusive back view of their forecast for our Saturday and the previous record at 99 degrees.
00:29 So still plenty of heat to work with, especially West Texas and South Texas, even as we head throughout the day on Sunday. But as this front continues to move farther South pushes the chance or thunderstorms a little bit farther South.
00:40 So Austin taps into some of those storms on Sunday at Houston could still see some storminess. Meanwhile, temperature starting to drop in Dallas.
00:48 Now there's going to still be a lot of heat to work with throughout our Sunday. Notice Austin at 102 previous record 101.
00:54 So still steamy, still very hot to wrap up the weekend, but a big pattern change is on the way.
01:00 We're going to be watching this front dip a bit farther South Monday into Tuesday from Wichita down through Dallas, which is going to bring very beneficial rain, but it is also going to help temperatures drop.
01:11 We take you into the 70 forecast in Dallas.
01:13 Just an example of those temperatures dropping upper 90s throughout our Saturday.
01:17 But look at this pattern throughout next week.
01:19 Clouds, rain and temperatures only into the 80s.
01:22 So better weather is on the way.
