A 14-year-old boy is in a serious condition after he was allegedly kidnapped in Melbourne’s southeast.

00:00 This incident unfolding late yesterday in broad daylight just before 3.30pm.
00:08 That boy was in Glen Huntley, which is a suburb close to the city, about 10km out of the CBD.
00:15 Now he was along Neeram Road and you can see on this map where that is.
00:20 That young boy, just 14 years old as you say, was dragged into a grey Volkswagen Tiguan.
00:26 Minutes later, around the corner, Grange Road, that's where he escaped, jumping from that
00:30 moving vehicle.
00:31 During the ordeal he sustained serious injuries.
00:34 He was taken here to the Royal Children's Hospital in a life-threatening condition,
00:39 in a critical condition.
00:41 This morning he's now in a serious condition.
00:44 Police are investigating a possible link to a nearby armed robbery in a neighbouring suburb.
00:51 A group of teenagers were targeted by armed assailants wielding machetes.
