Angus Taylor speaking in Canberra - ahead of national cabinet meeting - where commonwealth, state and territory leaders will be mapping out a coordinated response to fuel security. He's calling on the government to get the fuel where it's needed - as some servos run dry. To take 26 cents a litre off the fuel excise - delivering some immediate relief, to provide more transparency on how much fuel supply we have and where is it. And... to tell us what is being considered in terms of next step measures.

00:02Well, the fuel security and fuel affordability crisis rolls on, Australians struggling to
00:07pay their bills but are now struggling at the bowser of course and many bowsers across

00:19Australians and not just households who are trying to get to work and get to all the things
00:26they have to do in their everyday lives but also businesses, our farmers, our tradies,
00:31our truckers who are all deeply concerned about whether they're going to get the fuel
00:35they need to get the job done in the coming days, weeks and months but also deeply concerned
00:41about whether they can afford the fuel they need.
00:43Now we know that in a few minutes time there will be a national cabinet and there are four
00:49clear tests for this national cabinet, what it needs to achieve.
00:54Number one, move the fuel, get the fuel to where it is needed.
00:59We keep hearing from this government that there's more than enough fuel in stock and yet there
01:05are over 600 servos without fuel in stock.
01:08So move the fuel to where it is needed as a top priority.
01:13Second is slash the tax, take 26 cents a litre off the fuel excise to provide Australians with
01:20the relief they need as they go into Easter, $16 million a day we know this is costing Australians
01:27that the government doesn't move on this.
01:29We need a cut to the excise immediately.
01:33Third, we need transparency of where the fuel is in the supply chain.
01:36The Queensland Premier has asked for a dashboard to put this in simple terms, where is the
01:41fuel?
01:41Where's it sitting?
01:43Where are the gaps?
01:44What's the government doing about it?
01:46Is there enough fuel coming into the country?
01:48Have we got carriers bringing the fuel into the country at the rate we need?
01:52A number.
01:53It is cents cents per hour.
01:53Will zupełnie, if you see a grateful point.
