Pressure is mounting on the Malinauskas government to make public transport free in response to the rising fuel prices. Both the Victorian and Tasmanian governments are implementing the measure with business groups and anti-poverty advocates saying South Australia should follow suit.

00:12Anti-poverty advocate Samantha Skinner says jobseeker recipients are bearing the brunt of the fuel crisis.
00:18The Salisbury local and former Greens candidate says her $100 fuel bill is now more than her weekly income.
00:24I would normally come to the city three, four times a week. I'm now going like, no, I better not.
00:28Ms Skinner says free public transport would make it easier for her to get into the city,
00:33something the state's employers are also worried about.
00:36We're hearing from businesses that they're starting to see some signs of early absenteeism
