Delhi is set to host the G20 Summit on September 9 and 10. It is a critical event that will see leaders of major economies across the globe gather to discuss various pressing issues. However, this high-profile conference has direct implications for the city's residents and commuters as the traffic movement in Delhi will be significantly affected during these two days. 00:00 Delhi is set to host the G20 summit on September 9th and 10th.
00:04 It is a critical event that will see leaders of major economies across the globe
00:08 gather to discuss various pressing issues.
00:11 However, this high-profile conference has direct implications for the city's residents and commuters
00:17 as the traffic movement in Delhi will be significantly affected during these two days.
00:22 One India team has spoken to the special commissioner in Delhi Police
00:26 to clarify any confusion one might have regarding the accessibility of places and services during the G20 summit.
00:32 First of all, I would like to clarify that there is no need for confusion
00:38 and there is no such situation.
00:40 The G20 summit is a matter of pride for the entire nation, for Delhi and for Delhi Police.
00:47 And we will all make the necessary arrangements.
00:51 As far as the myths and doubts are concerned,
00:55 that there will be a lockdown or everything will be shut down,
00:59 that is not the case at all.
01:02 The traffic advisory that we have issued on 25th August
01:05 and after that we have started a lot of awareness programs.
01:11 The main point of that is that essential services will be fully operational,
01:20 whether it is medical services, medical shops, grocery stores,
01:25 milk booths, all these will remain open as they have been before.
01:32 The New Delhi Police District or the New Delhi DMC area
01:38 will have some restrictions on services, but all the essential services will continue.
01:43 And from 7th August, the heavy goods vehicles in Delhi,
01:48 like we do on 15th August and 26th January,
01:52 we will stop the entry of commercial vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, medium goods vehicles.
02:00 But along with this, the trucks that are bringing essential goods,
02:06 vegetables, ration, etc., and they have no entry permissions,
02:12 they will be allowed to enter Delhi, there will be no restriction on that.
02:17 Now let's come to New Delhi.
02:19 We have made New Delhi a control zone.
02:22 In that control zone, the city bus services and the ISBT that used to cross New Delhi
02:30 or used to cross from C-hexagon to India Gate,
02:33 those have been made termination points at the borders of New Delhi Police District.
02:39 We have issued an advisory on that in detail.
02:43 Interstate bus services will run normally.
02:46 Like the Sarai Kale Kha, ISBT, Anand Vihar bus depots will come there.
02:51 Only a slight change in this is that the ISBT buses that come from Haryana and Rajasthan,
02:58 or city bus services,
03:00 we have coordinated with the Gurgaon Police.
03:03 They will be diverted from Rajiv Chowk or Ifco Chowk to MG Road.
03:08 They will not come to the sides of NH48 and Dholakua.
03:12 Along with this, metro services will continue to run.
03:17 Metro services are not affected anywhere.
03:20 The Supreme Court metro station will remain affected.
03:23 Apart from that, all other services of the metro,
03:26 so my appeal is that the service of the metro should be used as much as possible.
03:31 You want to come to New Delhi, you want to come to the area of NDMC,
03:35 you are coming from the airport, you are coming from the railway station,
03:40 you want to go to the hospital, RML or Primus, then use the metro service.
03:45 Now comes the medical services.
03:47 The ambulance will not be affected anywhere.
03:50 We have made a special ambulance assistance control room.
03:53 There is a dedicated number.
03:55 20 main junctions, intersections,
03:59 there the staff has been deployed for ambulance facilitation, for their corridor.
04:05 Along with that, motorcycles are also there.
04:07 If the ambulance has to go through a special corridor,
04:11 we will try to give it.
04:13 Without any obstacle or obstacle,
04:17 they are taking the ambulance and the patient.
04:20 The arrangements have been made for their movement.
