Tensions inside the NATO alliance are reaching a breaking point as a former UN peacekeeping officer warns that the organization is “rotting from within.” According to Norwegian veteran officer Bergtun, NATO’s internal divisions are deepening as former President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin push ahead with their own power moves — bypassing NATO entirely.
Bergtun claims Europe’s influence has faded significantly, with the U.S. treating NATO as a tool rather than a partner. As Ukraine peace negotiations advance, reports suggest the U.S. is now pressuring President Zelensky to consider territorial concessions to end the war.
Following a tense, high-stakes meeting with Ukrainian officials, Secretary of State Rubio described the discussions as “tense but positive.” Trump also commented on the situation, hinting that corruption remains a major obstacle to peace.
While NATO struggles with outdated strategies and internal distrust, Russia continues advancing on the battlefield, sustaining heavy losses but refusing to withdraw.
