Aston by-election race sees female line-up vying for Liberal pre-selection as Labor backs 'suburban mum' Mary Doyle

The major parties have stepped back into election mode, as the race heats up for a by-election. The South-East Melbourne seat of Aston has been vacated by former cabinet minister Alan Tudge, who today formally announced his resignation from parliament.
