The Liberty Bell Bay manganese smelter has been put into voluntary administration almost a year after it's 200-strong workforce were told it was being placed into care and maintenance mode. The state and federal governments have pledged to work with the administrators as they look for a new owner.

01:26The corporate regulator ASIC recently filed with the NSW Supreme Court to wind up the business
01:32process for failing to lodge financial statements.
