Some people who've become addicted to prescription and illicit opiates are waiting more than a year just to be prescribed medication to help them kick their habit, and now health workers are calling for urgent intervention. It comes as a new report by the Penington Institute shows the misuse of pharmaceuticals is a key driver of overdose deaths in Australia.
