When Victoria was shaken by the biggest earthquake in its recorded history last year, it was felt by people hundreds of kilometres away. But its precise measurements were made by a network of dozens of seismometers stationed around the country. You can find them everywhere from the tops of mountains to the bottom of the ocean.
