Rebecca was told to wait 2 years after mastectomy for reconstruction surgery

Every year about 20,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer, and 40 per cent of them will have a mastectomy. Fewer than 20 percent of those have a breast reconstruction. Here is Rebecca’s story, captured by ABC photographer Brendan Esposito.
