00:01It's utter chaos here right now.
00:04There is a lot of disgruntled, weary and really upset travellers here.
00:10I just spoke to a woman who has been here since last night.
00:14She went all the way through getting onto the plane, going through baggage, going through
00:18immigration just to be told that her flight was cancelled.
00:22She hasn't been given any food and drink vouchers, no accommodation plans or anything,
00:28any kind of way to stay in a hotel.
00:32And she says there's been little to no communication with the airline.
00:37I'm actually where Qatar Airways is reportedly usually set up and there's no staff here right
00:43now.
00:43She said that's left her really disgruntled, particularly after having not slept all night,
00:49just sitting in the airport itself.
00:52There's been over 11,000 flights cancelled globally.
00:56Of course, the Middle East is a connection hub for so many flights across the world.
01:02And large parts of that airspace was virtually just, there was no flights at all overnight,
01:08which never happens, of course.
01:11Here's what some people had to say at the airport this morning about their experience.
01:15Well, I spent over $4,000 on this flight.
01:19It's my mother's 90th birthday in three days' time.
01:22I'm not going to be there now.
01:24I can't stay in Australia indefinitely, hoping that the war's going to end.
01:28We have no communications from the airline, so we don't know what's happening.
01:31So I don't know how long we're going to sleep here.
01:34We've been on the, we've literally come off the plane, so I have no news, I have no updates.
01:39What has gone on around you, perhaps you can tell me the news.
01:42I was screened my phone and I saw all the news and I was like, I'm lucky that will be
01:45the last plane.
01:46Yeah, so, so many disruptions across the globe.
01:50And I've just been looking through the flights that are scheduled for tonight.
01:54The flights going to the Middle East aren't at the moment.
01:57There's more flights going to Asian countries right now.
02:00But a couple of those flights have already been cancelled.
02:03A flight to Doha is cancelled.
02:05A couple of flights with Emirates are cancelled.
02:08That woman that I was talking to before, who was hoping to get on a flight tonight
02:11when I was standing here interviewing her earlier,
02:14she just got a text from Sydney Airport telling her that the flight had been cancelled.
02:20And it's just people have no idea when they're going to have some clarity about getting home,
02:26walking through the airport.
02:27It's just really sad.
02:28There's a lot of people who are really upset and this has disrupted a lot of people's plans.
