In 2014, Amazon launched Amazon Prime Pantry to bring the Amazon touch to grocery staples that are easy to ship.But six years is a very long-time for a tech company like Amazon.The retailer recently announced that Pantry has been shut down.What had previously set Pantry apart was the shipping and costs.Pantry allowed subscribers to fill up a single box with Pantry-specific items and have it shipped free on orders over $40.But Pantry required a $5 monthly fee on top of an existing Prime Membership. .Now that Prime includes free grocery delivery, paying that extra monthly fee doesn't make sense
