Throughout his career as a "faith healer" and evangelist, during each iteration of his Stage Persona, William Branham continued a theme of Doomsday Predictions. As the crowds lost interest in the sense of urgency Branham described using prophetic claim, Branham introduced new updates built upon the previous doomsday prediction. In some cases, these predictions were carried forward into updated versions of the Stage Persona.

In early versions of William Branham's Stage Persona, he claimed to have "prophesied" that America had made her final decision and was doomed. Later versions of the Stage Persona continued the theme, changing the year of this "turning point" as new campaigns were launched. Once such campaign theme was used during William Branham and Joseph Mattsson-Boze's launch of Peoples Temple leader Jim Jones' career.

In February of 1956, as Branham's campaign team were organizing the launch of Jim Jones' career as a "faith healer" in the Cadle Tabernacle in Indianapolis, IN., Branham revised his 1946 prediction that "America had made her 'final decision'".

Branham's account of his 1946 claim:

You remember, it was THUS SAITH THE LORD. I said, “America made her final decision in 1946.” Watch since then. She is gone. And there’s nothing left but judgment and chaos. Look what’s happened in that much time. Just watch it, how it’s going to keep faster and faster. We’re at the end. We’re living in the shadows of His Coming.

In Feburary of 1956, as preparations were being made for Peoples Temple to host Branham's Indianapolis and Chicago Campaigns, Branham introduced the notion of a 1956 "turning point" that was built upon the 1956 prophetic claim. In this iteration of the Stage Persona, however, this claim was not prophetic. William Branham clearly stated that this prediction was his own, not of divine inspiration:

And I believe that this 1956 is a turning time. I predict this, not by spiritual inspiration, or I don’t say that, not by vision. But this is the turning time for the U.S.A. They’ll either accept it this year or they’ll be cast off.

In later versions of his Stage Persona, however, Branham introduced a prophetic claim to the 1956 "non-prophetic" prediction:
The revival’s gone: 1956, I prophesied in Chicago that Billy Graham, that year, would return and cancel his meetings. Tommy Osborn would return, and America would see its last call. And from then the revival would die. I just count back and see. We got that on record.
