Peru: Two Suspected Shining Path Leaders Arrested

Two suspected leaders of the armed guerrilla group Shining Path captured a few days ago in southern Peru were transferred to the capital city of Lima on Monday. The commanders were identified as Alexander Alarcon Soto, also known as Comrade Renan, and Dionisio Ramos, also known as Comrade Yuri. Alarcon Soto is accused or participating in armed attacks in which five police officers and six soldiers were killed, among other offenses. teleSUR
