00:00As the most geographically dispersed winter games in Olympic history, attention is turning to the legacy the games will leave
00:08on Italy.
00:09Unlike previous games centered on a single host city, venues were split between Milan and mountain clusters including Cortina, Livigno
00:17and Predazzo.
00:18The model was designed to maximize the use of existing facilities, while targeting infrastructure investment where it was deemed most
00:25necessary, with a strong emphasis on post-games functionality.
00:29The most important part is certainly the infrastructure part, because it is the one that is more experienced by those
00:38who arrive in Cortina and also by our residents.
00:40So the best roads, the best buildings, new buildings, this is something that is enjoyed directly by citizens, but also
00:47by those who arrive in Cortina.
00:49In Milan, the games legacy centers on urban redevelopment.
00:52Now we will have the Olympic villages that hopefully will be transformed into successful dorms for students from a social
01:00perspective.
01:01But I strongly believe that the huge impact will be the Arena Santa Giulia, because in Rogoredo is Milano, very
01:09close to the metro.
01:10In both Milan and Cortina, organizers hope the games will serve as a catalyst for planned investment rather than a
01:16standalone construction boom.
