Heavy rains in Ecuador have left at least three people dead, twelve injured, and more than 5,000 affected nationwide. The National Risk Management Secretariat confirmed red, orange, and yellow alerts across several provinces in response to flooding, river overflows, and landslides. In the capital and other regions, authorities reported severe damage to infrastructure and homes. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology warned that intense rains will continue until February 22, accompanied by storms and water accumulation, and announced strengthened warning dissemination and preventive coordination services.
