The Rafael Correa administration is taking the message of social equality to the streets. Collectives supporting two new tax laws designed to increase equality in the country are kicking off a campaign in support of the measures. The government’s wealthy opposition reject the proposals, often engaging in violent tactics. President Correa temporarily suspended the bills with the aim of opening up a debate on the issues. The opposition however, rejects all debate and calls for ousting Correa from the presidency. teleSUR
