00:00The
00:15fifth day of the general debate of the ADF United Nations General Assembly concluded.
00:19Representatives of UN member states discussed urgent issues to achieve world peace.
00:24Our correspondent Jorge Gestoso with all the details.
00:27Latin America, with its views, challenges and international support,
00:32was very much present on this fifth day at the United Nations General Assembly
00:38with Cuba delivering a strong message.
00:42Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez opened his 15-minute speech
00:46by denouncing the ongoing crisis in Gaza as a genocide enabled by the U.S. support,
00:53linking it to broader patterns of impunity and ethnic cleansing.
00:59He stressed Cuba's unwavering support for Palestinian self-determination.
01:06As we meet here, 2.2 million human beings in Gaza are condemned to hunger
01:14by the genocidal extermination and ethnic cleansing actions of the Zionist regime,
01:21which enjoys the military and financial supplies and the impunity guaranteed by the government of the United States.
01:30His speech also emphasized the urgent need to tackle the escalating crisis, climate change and militarism.
01:38In the Caribbean, today we're seeing the looming threat of war,
01:43with an extraordinary naval and air deployment of an offensive nature,
01:49utterly unjustified, involving missiles, landing and assault craft and nuclear submarines.
01:59The United States brandishes the pretext of fighting crime and drug trafficking.
02:06This is a tale which no one in this chamber believes.
02:11We reaffirm our energetic rejection of threats of aggression against Venezuela,
02:18and our full support for the Bolivarian and Chavista government of this sister Latin American and Caribbean nation,
02:29and for the People's Military Union led by the legitimate President Nicolás Maduro Moros.
02:38Bruno RodrĂguez painted a stark picture of worldwide suffering exacerbated by unequal resource distribution
02:46and demanded a new international order given the obsolescence of the current world order,
02:53which he argued perpetuates domination.
02:57Let us aspire to a new civilized coexistence in which solidarity, international cooperation,
03:06and the peaceful settlement of disputes prevail as alternatives to war,
03:14the use of force, aggression and occupation,
03:20opposed to unipolar domination and hegemonism,
03:27an order without blockades or universal coercive measures,
03:32based on multilateralism,
03:35and full respect for the United Nations Charter.
03:39Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov addressed the General Assembly criticizing Western relentless attempts
03:46to divide the world into us and them, into democracy or autocracy.
03:53He defended Russia's stance on Ukraine while warning of escalating risks and condemning Israel actions in the Middle East,
04:02and condemns the U.S. threats against Venezuela.
04:07Naturally, we are very alarmed by the fact that the Americans have now organized in international waters as of now,
04:17but around the international waters around Venezuela.
04:20I spoke today, yesterday, I spoke to the Foreign Minister, with Ivan Hill,
04:27and many other representatives of Latin American region and the Caribbean are very alarmed,
04:33and Brazilians as well, and the island states, such as Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
04:41I met with the Foreign Minister of Nicaragua today as well.
04:45The situation, indeed, is very serious.
04:48And talking before Lavrov, Terence Drew, the Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Neves,
04:53condemned the U.S. offensive on Venezuela and its threats and aggression,
04:58and also called Washington economic blockade to Cuba a relic,
05:03and highlighted Cuba's contribution to Caribbean health and education despite the sanctions.
05:11And on this day, once again, Palestine received an overwhelming support,
05:16while most of the speakers condemn Israel's genocide and demand an immediate ceasefire.
05:24勝fire.
