00:00In Venezuela, a day of prevention and preparation was held with the National Civil Protection and Preparedness Trial.
00:07This massive exercise was activated in response to the seismic activity recorded in the country

00:19The objective is to increase the population's response capacity to any event, from natural disasters to conflict scenarios.
00:36In downtown Caracas, public agencies activated their protocols.
00:43Workers' participation in this defense and risk management plan is essential to ensure the continuity of the state's vital functions.
00:49This is practically a small lesson in our Venezuelan town.
00:57Because we are already seeing earthquakes, and God forbid that the main ridge, the Avila Warera Rapano, should open up.
01:04If it does open up, there could be a tsunami linked to the earthquake, so we must be prepared.
01:09Right now we are seeing a small drill in the Ban Venez building, how to evacuate our work colleagues,
01:15because nature is warning us that this is a one-time thing.
01:19The education sector joined the effort by prioritizing school safety in the face of any contingency.
01:29As an educational institution, we have begun to approach all institutions regarding the creation of risk brigades
01:38and school patrol prevention measures.
01:40We are providing directories in case of an emergency, where each teacher should go,
01:45and how to evacuate students to a safer area, and protect their safety so that once everything is calm,
01:51and the representatives arrive, they can hand-deliver the represented person to their own representative.

01:56The involvement of parents and guardians of each student is key to this preparation.
02:05Today we are conducting a drill for representatives and students throughout the institution,
02:13in order to raise awareness and properly frame the times we are unfortunately experiencing here in Venezuela.
02:18Here in Caracas, the magnitude has not been felt to a great extent,
02:28but we want to use this to raise awareness so that when the unwanted happens,
02:32we are already prepared to face that moment.
02:34From communities to institutions and educational facilities,
02:43the country is strengthening its self-defense capacity,
02:46raising awareness among the people as a strategic actor in national security.
