Recalling the saying that necessity is the mother of invention, spurred by the lack of fishing vessels and materials due to the blockade and the need to increase food supplies, a Palestinian youth group in the Gaza Strip has invented a fishing boat constructed from used plastic containers. In addition to serving as a fishing boat, the vessel was meant to bring international attention to the plight of Gaza fishermen, who suffer from the Israeli refusal to allow materials to enter the beleaguered Palestinian enclave.
