Colombia takes 1st step toward legalization of medical marijuana

A commission of Colombia's senate has taken the first step toward legalization of medical marijuana in the country. The proposed measure passed by a majority of votes. If the proposal goes through, marijuana use would be legalized for patients with painful and terminal conditions such as cancer and aids.
