Hello everyone, today we will look at a very common mistake that even many native English speakers make. It's still important to know the difference because you will lose points in your exam otherwise (or you might look foolish if it's a business e-mail).
Now, first off, it's important to know that the pronunciation of these 3 words is identical (slang is excluded) and it's part of the reason it's confusing.
There: Refers to a place, whether concrete or abstract
Also use with the verb "to be" to mention the existence of something ("There is a store on the corner of the street")
Their: Possessive adjective. Use it to indicate possession. (It's their ball)
They're: Contraction of "They are". So only use it if "They are" makes sense ("They're not coming after all)
