01:30Thank you, Fred and Dylan, almost halfway to school.
01:32What's up?
01:33How is it that their parents did not know?
01:36Chris says the little Eric and Dylan revealed to their friends, they expertly hid from their parents.
01:42Ready to torpedoes, mister.
01:43Oh!
01:49Oh!
01:54And Eric's like, yeah, did you hear?
01:56My dad found a pipe bomb.
01:57I'm like, oh man, it's gonna suck.
02:00I was like, you know, he was gonna be in like some really big trouble.
02:02All his punishment was, was to go up to the mountains with his dad and blow it up.
02:06Do not!
02:08God damn it.
02:10No, you goddamn piece of bitch ass shit!
02:14Do not even screw with that little kid.
02:16If you do, I'll rip off your goddamn head and shove it so far up your...
02:22Look, I don't care what you say.
02:27If you ever touch him again, I will frickin' kill you.
02:30I'm gonna pull out a goddamn shotgun and blow your damn head off.
02:34Do you understand?
02:35Little worthless piece of crap!
02:37Is that all?
02:47Try to hit the tree.
02:48I want to see what a slug does to the tree.
02:53Yeah.
02:54Scoot back some.
02:55An Oliver Stone film.
02:58Mickey and Mallory.
02:59Yeah.
03:00Feared by thousands.
03:02I love you someone, baby!
03:05I love you!
03:05I love you!
03:35You gotta take a look at that.
03:47That was my ghetto gun.
03:51This one, man.
03:56Yeah.
03:56We ain't seen nothin' yet.
04:00Natural-born killers.
04:01Rated R.
04:03Harris and Klebold seem to have lived two lives.
04:06Their friends and family described them as normal teenage boys.
04:10Others described them as outcasts.
04:12But they left behind evidence of a much darker and sinister side.
04:16This darker side was an aspect they apparently shared only with each other.
04:20They're calling by one of them.
04:21They're recording through the gun.
04:23They're shot out a window.
04:25I believe one of them is up.
04:27Um, yeah.
04:28You got shot me off.
04:29I've got her in.
04:30Okay.
04:30Okay.
04:31Copy.
04:311121.
04:36147, another qualification on the east side of Wadsworth, between Shantfield and King
04:41Thurow.
04:44Okay.
04:44I'm in the area, go ahead and put me out.
04:511123.
04:52147.
04:53Go ahead.
04:54We have a female down in the south lot of Columbine High School.
04:58It's the south lower lot at the east end of the lot.
05:01I don't know if this is related to this explosion, but we have a female down in the south lot of
05:07Columbine High School.
05:08It's the south lower lot at the east end of the lot.
05:11I don't know if this is related to this explosion.
05:20Dan, what can you tell us?
05:22It's eerie sight to see so many sort of scenes from everyday school events.
05:27You see kids walking around and terrified.
05:30You see students still working out with their weight belts on.
05:34And you see a lot of tears.
05:36But the most striking deacon here at the school is parents searching around frantically for their children.
05:43The Columbine High School massacre was a school shooting and attempted bombing which occurred on April 20, 1999 at Columbine High School in Columbine, Colorado, United States.
05:57The perpetrators, 12th grade students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold murdered 13 students and one teacher.
06:0610 were killed in the school library where Harris and Klebold subsequently died by suicide.
06:1220 additional people were injured by gunshots and gunfire was exchanged with the police.
06:19The Columbine massacre was the deadliest mass shooting in a K through 12 school in U.S. history until December 2012.
06:28Pierre, stand by. We'll come back to you shortly.
06:31Aaron Katursky with ABC News has also been on the scene along with our entire team this morning.
06:35Diane Sawyer on the way for World News this evening.
06:38One of the parents recently told me that as the children were walked out of the school by their teachers,
06:44some of them were told to cover their eyes as they walked and just hold on to each other.
06:49It is still considered one of the most infamous massacres in the U.S. for inspiring many other school shootings and bombings.
06:58You just loved crucifying me. You loved inducing cancer in my head, terrorizing my heart, and ripping my soul all this time.
07:05I didn't have to do this. I could have left. I could have fled.
07:10To know that I will no longer run, if not for me, for my children, for my brothers and sisters.
07:19But you f***. I did it for them.
07:23The word Columbine has since become a byword for modern school shootings.
07:28As of 2025, Columbine is still but the deadliest mass shooting at school shooting in Colorado
07:35and one of the deadliest mass shootings in the United States.
