00:00Let's talk about the third arc of Andor Season 2.
00:04I think this arc is probably my favorite so far.
00:08Obviously, there will be spoilers in this video if you haven't watched the episodes yet.
00:13With that said, let's get started.
00:16Cassian and Bix are now living on Yavin, which has become an actual rebel base.
00:22I personally don't love the stuff with the Force healer.
00:25I feel like it's a bit unnecessary.
00:27But what I do like is seeing General Draven confront Cassian about leaving without permission.
00:35And it seems like Cassian doesn't particularly like waiting for permission before leaving Yavin, as we see again in Rogue One.
00:42Anyway, I feel like this really highlights the fact that Cassian still thinks of the Rebellion as an undercover network,
00:50with a bunch of individual people making their own individual choices.
00:54Draven, meanwhile, sees the Rebellion as an actual army, a military force where there are orders and procedures that have to be followed.
01:04Cassian then goes to Gorman, where the tension is coming to a boiling point.
01:10Daedra, Cyril, and the rest of the Empire have led the Gorman rebels to open Rebellion, protesting in the streets.
01:17Finally, the Empire decides they've waited long enough, and citizens stream into the plaza, unaware that it's a trap.
01:28I love how the desperation and energy renders Ryland's virtually powerless, even though he is the theoretical leader.
01:36Once everyone is inside, the Empire wastes no time.
01:40They get their troops out into the middle of the protesters, and then fire one shot.
01:46One shot.
01:48That's all it took.
01:49The tension was so high that the entire plaza just erupted into fighting.
01:53I find it interesting that Cassian was just kind of swept up into it.
01:57He really had little choice but to join the fight.
02:01At this point, Daedra and Cyril realize exactly what they've done, particularly Cyril.
02:06For two years now, he's gone along with Daedra, doing whatever she told him to, unaware that he was preparing the rebels to be massacred.
02:17Next, the Empire releases their KX droids, chasing and murdering any escaping civilians.
02:24And these droids are a lot stronger than I think we realized just watching Rogue One with K2 only being destroyed after being slammed into a wall by a transport.
02:33I wonder what exactly made Cassian think to bring the droid.
02:38He was obviously low on time, the droid was broken, and he was trying to escape.
02:43Either way, it's a good thing he did, otherwise, who would keep us entertained during Rogue One?
02:49Anyway, all the events on Gorman make Mon Mothma decide that enough is enough.
02:55She decides that she must make a speech to the Senate telling them what really happened.
02:59Even as she's faced with the incredibly intimidating concept of defying the Emperor within the Senate,
03:07she also has to deal with the issue of listening devices in her office,
03:10and the fact that her assistant has been working with Luthen without her knowing it.
03:14All the stress on Mon Mothma is really starting to show.
03:18The speech itself is absolutely incredible, and so is the escape sequence afterward.
03:22I love how the Empire's own procedures stop them from shutting off Mon's speech.
03:29Because the door to the controls needs to be kept locked, they couldn't just shut her off immediately.
03:34I also love how every time Cassian fires his blaster, Mon seems shocked.
03:40She's a senator. Why would she have ever seen someone killed before?
03:43All of a sudden, she gets introduced to the harsh realities of rebelling against the Empire.
03:50I love how the ISB agents are even within Bail Organa's evacuation team.
03:56Here's what I don't get, though.
03:59The events of this arc go directly into the Rebels episode, Secret Cargo.
04:04In that episode, however, Mon is taken to Dantooine, where she starts the Rebel Alliance.
04:11But we see here that the Yavin base was already established at this point,
04:18and they even say that's where she is going to be taken, but then she isn't?
04:23It's a very small detail that doesn't really matter to me, but it did throw me off a little.
04:29Finally, we see that Bix has left Cassian so that he will continue fighting for the Rebellion.
04:35I honestly feel like this was a little forced to explain why she isn't in Rogue One.
04:40I feel like they wanted her gone, but they didn't want to kill her.
04:45What I do like about the end of this arc is K2's reprogramming.
04:49I like the idea that they can't be certain it would work.
04:53Clearly, everyone's very on-edge about it.
04:56What I want to know, though, is this.
04:58If you aren't sure it's going to work, why not do it in a side room or something, not the main hangar?
05:04Still, I love the transformation after K2 is turned on.
05:08He instantly becomes the droid we all know and love from Rogue One.
05:12I can't wait to see how the final arc carries us through the final year to the movie.
05:18That's all for this arc. Have a great day, and may the Force be with you.
05:21I'll see you next time.
