00:00After watching the second episode of Andor Season 2, I am continuing to love the series.
00:06If you haven't watched the episode yet, I would recommend watching it before watching this review.
00:12Otherwise, let's dive into Episode 2.
00:15I'm going to cover this episode in the same way as I covered Episode 1, looking at the episode one arc at a time.
00:22Starting with Cassian, we are back on the jungle moon from the last episode.
00:26We got a huge reveal about the moon itself, but I'll cover that in a minute.
00:32First, I find it interesting how little the two groups of rebels trust each other.
00:37Obviously, they are united by one thing and one thing only, their hatred for the Empire.
00:43Apart from that, they have no loyalty to each other, and it doesn't take much to have them fighting against each other.
00:50I also find it hilarious that they settle their disagreements with what seems to be basically rock, paper, scissors.
00:59It seems like something we should have seen during Skeleton Crew and not Andor, but I love it.
01:05I wanted to give a shout-out to the name of the creature that attacks them while Andor is escaping because I found it hilarious.
01:11If you look in the Star Wars databank, you'll find that its name is the Yavinian Dudar, a name that does not seem to fit at all, given its terrifying appearance and behavior.
01:23But that name brings up one of my favorite moments from the episode.
01:28Seeing the TIE Avenger fly into the sky to reveal some very familiar-looking ancient temples.
01:34Yes, this is indeed Yavin 4, the very moon that, four years later, will host the entire Rebel Alliance for their fight against the Death Star.
01:46I've been wondering for a while why there was no title card for the moon in the first episode, but this surprise was so worth the wait.
01:56Next, I want to talk about Dedra and Cyril.
01:59Firstly, I find it interesting that Dedra doesn't actually want to take over Gorman.
02:04Frankly, it actually would have been far better for the Empire to continue focusing on finding Luthan, as Dedra suggests.
02:12As far as Cyril is concerned, I find it kind of funny that he's switched places with his Season 1 self, now being the one to introduce new workers to the Bureau of Standards.
02:23What I really wanted to point out, though, is the way that the very thing that got him promoted at the Bureau of Standards is also what got him fired from Morlana in Season 1.
02:37Seeing a crime that no one else cared about, and digging deeper.
02:41Later, we see that Dedra and Cyril are a couple and are living together, and to be honest, I don't know why they included this in the series yet, but I'm sure there will be a good reason later on.
02:54Next up, we have the Ferex Survivors on Mina Rao.
02:59The Imperial Auditors are stirring up trouble here, causing fear among everyone whether or not they're on Mina Rao illegally.
03:07The Empire is obviously very disliked, but most people have no problem tolerating them, since they aren't affected directly by the Empire's cruelty.
03:17When the Empire finds Bix, it is obvious that her trauma from the last season is still very much present, and just the sight of Imperials makes her uncomfortable.
03:29Though she is able to keep from giving anything away, it's obviously stressful, and I don't know that she'll be able to keep it together if she confronts the Empire again.
03:39Finally, we have the events on Shandrilla.
03:42I feel like the tension here is really inescalating in this episode, even as most of the guests are just enjoying themselves, having no clue about any of the rebel activity going on.
03:55I love the way all of the exchanges between Mon, Tay, and Luthen are very cryptic, giving us only the bare minimum of information.
04:03I love how Tay just starts whining to Mon about all his money problems, and Genevieve O'Reilly's acting continues to be incredible in these scenes, with quite a bit of the information we can gather coming purely from her expressions and reactions.
04:21Luthen is, as always, watching in the shadows, and doesn't hesitate to confront Mon about the interaction, wanting more information.
04:28I think the show is handling this arc on Shandrilla exceptionally well, and I can't wait to see the next installment.
04:36If you want to learn more about the series, make sure to subscribe and look out for my other Andor reviews.
04:42Have a great day, and may the Force be with you.
