The 47th edition of the Dakar has set a date for the world's rally-raiders in Saudi Arabia from 3 to 17 January.

00:29as the final special of Dakar 2025 got underway. In original BiMotul, a single minute separated
00:35Benji Melot and Emmanuel Genes. That super tight battle ended in controversy. The Romanian
00:41took the title by 3.05, but Melot's digital system hadn't registered a waypoint.
01:16Sandra Gomez, the only woman on a bike this year. She more than held her own against 133
01:27men in the field, finishing 43rd overall. Enhorabuena.
01:41Rally 2's Michael Docherty loves the sand and proved it by winning his second stage
01:45of this Dakar ahead of the rally GP boys. It's a hell of an experience Dakar for sure.

02:20skills and we love him for all of it. A second straight podium in bikes, chapeau.
02:31Second overall, Honda's Tosha Shahrena, the first Spaniard on the podium since 2017.
02:37Three years ago, we were fighting just to race here in Dakar and now we were fighting
02:43for the win. So super happy and hungry for more.
02:47Defending champion Ricky Braybeck has had by no means a bad Dakar, finishing fifth and
02:50one stage win. Good job, Ricky. He'll be back.
02:54Next year, I hope to be 120% ready to fight and take back the title. So we'll see what
03:01happens.
03:02The only person who leaves satisfied, if not delighted, with his performance is Luciano
03:05Benavides. Muy bien, tío.
03:09I will not stop until I win this race. And now I know what I have to do to win the whole
03:14race, not only a stage. Yeah, I am sure I will do it in the future.
03:20And last, but definitely not last, only the second Australian winner after Toby Price,
03:24the first man since Mark Comer 16 years ago to lead from start to finish. Your 2025 Dakar
03:30champion on a motorcycle. It was never in doubt. And it's Daniel Chucky Sanders. Good
03:34on you, mate.
03:54It's the biggest race in the world for motorbikes and off-road. So, yeah, it's just ticked off
03:59all the goals for my career and everything I've wanted to achieve. So, all the hard work's
04:04paid off.

05:59The overnight leader local boy Yazeed Al-Rajhi set off with Nasser Al-Attiyah, Matthias Ekstrom
06:05and his closest rival, Henk Lutgen
06:07Just six minutes the gap and the race was on
06:23The smallest mistake could cost either or both of them
06:26The last time Nasser Al-Attiyah finished outside the top three was 2007
06:31The Qatari could only manage fourth
06:32The Dacia showed its pace though and they'll be back next year for another assault
06:36Problems last week put Brazilian Lucas Moraes out of the running this Dakar
06:41but he finished strongly, winning the final stage
06:46Of course the overall result that we're expecting, but again to win two times
06:50Especially the last one, the Champs-Élysées stage, it's really nice
06:54A year ago Ford didn't have a factory entry
06:56Here Matthias Ekstrom picked up his best result, third, and Mitch Guthrie was fifth
07:00We tried our best as well, but this year we were not good enough
07:05Henk Lutgen led overall for nine stages but ended second, still his best result
07:09I'm happy in general, but it always stings a little bit to lose out by such a small margin

07:19finally the home nation have an overall winner
07:22Already a hero here, this will take him stratospheric

07:40There's a new name on the trophy and kudos too to co-driver Timo Gottschalk
07:46Since 2015 only Nasser Al-Attiyah, Stefan Pederhansel and Carlos Sainz have won the Dakar
07:51But now there is a new name
07:53It's the first time in 25 years a non-factory entry has won the Dakar, Mabrook Yazeed
08:04The remaining three categories have been tied up for a while
08:07Maciek Tomasek and David Svando won the trucks by two hours 21, gratuazze kruzi
08:13We were kind of, not sure, but confident in our results, in our success

08:22I guess we enjoyed it, especially the first half, it was tough, I was really exhausted after that
