00:00What are you guys' feelings on the Patriots?
00:03Because it feels like they've kind of gotten a little bit better
00:05as the season has moved on.
00:07Obviously, Drake may have those terrible first couple weeks,
00:09and he's kind of gotten it together, at least fantasy-wise, trust me.
00:12I know.
00:13But I guess, Beav, I'll go to you.
00:16This Patriots team, obviously, awesome year last year.
00:19A lot of stuff towards the end of the year.
00:21It's like, how did they even get to the Super Bowl?
00:23How did Drake may even get them to that point?
00:26They faced some really good defenses.
00:28Their defense was just awesome, which carried them to the Super Bowl.
00:32And then they got crushed by a really good defense in the Seattle Seahawks.
00:35And now, I just don't know what to make of the Patriots
00:38because you have the Bills in the same division, right?
00:41So you're going to have to overcome that.
00:43And if they get into the playoffs,
00:44I don't know if there's anyone that really believes in this team, right, Beav?
00:49Nobody believes in this team.
00:50And I'm going to start with the one key component that's there, A.J. Brown.
00:54No one believes in A.J. Brown.
00:55Oh, man.
00:56Oh, come on, man.
00:57And I'm going to tell you why.
00:59Because Howie sold high on a player whose knee is cooked.
01:04John, that knee is bad.
01:06That knee is bad.
01:07Howie sold high.
01:08He got him out of here.
01:09But again, this is what happens when a player acts the way he acted, right,
01:15and demanded what he demanded.
01:17So Howie sold high.
01:19And that was the only place that was going to buy it.
01:20And they bought it.
01:22And nothing has transpired from it.
01:24And their wide receiver core hasn't got better because he hasn't been on the field.
01:26And then I'll take it a step further.
01:28You have issues in your running back field.
01:31Henderson is out due to mental health, right?
01:35So it's a lot of things that have transpired in this organization that you have to sit here and it's
01:42kind of head scratching.
01:43Like, what is going on?
01:44Their defense is still good.
01:45But an offensive ball, they're not good at all.
01:47Let me just say this because I'm going to defend A.J. Brown.
01:52Yes, he has never been a burner.
01:54He's never going to outrun anybody.
01:56He's just not catching the ball right now.
01:58When A.J. Brown gets the timing back and he starts catching those 50-50 balls,
02:04they go back to being A.J. Brown balls.
02:05All this is going to change.
02:07Even the balls he's dropping, by the way, he ain't outrunning nobody.
02:11He's just not catching the ball.
02:13That will change.
02:14I'm still high on A.J. Brown.
02:16I still believe that this will turn out to be roses for New England.
02:21I just think after a high ankle sprain and his inability to catch the ball right now,
02:26it purely comes down to timing.
02:29Where was his hands at in Philadelphia?
02:32Because the same issue that you're seeing in New England is, no,
02:36because now it boils down to this, right?
02:38The issue was with A.J. Brown prior was he wasn't getting the ball and there was a quarterback issue.
02:42The throws wasn't being made correctly.
02:44And all that stuff like that, right?
02:45He was dropping passes at Philly.
02:47Fast forward, there's nothing wrong with Drake May's ball.
02:50And you're still dropping him at a high clip.
02:51It was one game where he was forcing it so much that you literally walked off the field with only
02:56like,
02:56what, two or three catches?
02:57That is crazy to me.
02:59Now, it boils down to a certain thing.
03:01Either you're going to necessarily ball out,
03:05or you're going to necessarily blame it on a real cause at him, which is that knee.
03:09I think he's really in pain.
03:11If he's in pain out there, it's going to affect every mechanic that you have available.
03:15Or he might have lost his hands in the same attribute that he's losing his knee.
03:19Something's going on with A.J. Brown.
03:21John, there's some really bad stuff.
03:22Something's going on with A.J. Brown.
03:24If you look at it, the Adam Schefter is like it flared up.
03:26It says ankle ante, but it's the knee.
03:28They held him out.
03:29I mean, there's a lot of concerns about that.
03:32Oftentimes, when you come off an ankle, you get a knee because you're compensating because he didn't come back at
03:38100%.
03:39A high ankle sprain is probably one of the hardest injuries to ever rehab from and then actually get back
03:45out there and try to operate with that thing because it never really goes away unless you have months and
03:50months off, more like an offseason to heal off of it.
03:53So, again, I'm not selling on my A.J. Brown stock.
03:56Y'all go ahead.
03:58Y'all go ahead.
03:59I just am concerned about his knee.
04:01That's it.
04:02Or he has a Kawhi knee.
04:03I'm going to take it there.
04:04That's what they said, I think.
04:05He's got like a degenerative thing in that knee.
04:08This is not anything minor.
04:10It's like the Kawhi knee.
04:11It just flares up.
04:13You got to sit down.
04:13But in this case, A.J. Brown can afford that.
04:16He has too much riding on him for that.
04:18I agree.
04:19Listen, they made this move because they wanted to get Drake May a number one guy.
04:24They wanted to get him a guy where it's like, okay, we can go into a position.
04:29We can go into a playoff round and have A.J. Brown and have a beast at wide receiver with
04:33our top guy in Drake May.
04:35And it just hasn't turned out that way so far.
04:38And now there's concern not just with the ankle early, but now the knee.
04:41And now there's a lot of pain.
04:41And now there's a lot of pain.
04:41And now there's a lot of pain.
