00:00I think that people are a little bit off when they're talking about this as a soft benching.
00:04I know how fun it is to say soft benching, but it doesn't really make much sense since
00:09the Vikings signed Kyler Murray to a one-year, $1 million contract.
00:14They have no commitment to him whatsoever, and if they wanted to bench him, they would
00:18just bench him.
00:19I think you could see in the game where he's actually a designed run.
00:24He goes out of bounds.
00:25You could see him kind of on the tape, like, hitch up a little bit with his leg.
00:29I saw that.
00:29Yeah, I mean, there was clearly something there with the hamstring, and I totally agree with
00:34Kevin O'Connell that you cannot play Kyler Murray in any sort of limited fashion with his legs
00:41because he's just not the same.
00:43It's actually one of the best things he's done this year is to scramble and make plays.
00:47The New Orleans game, the 35-yard run against Indianapolis, he had another big one against
00:52Detroit, so you can't do that.
00:54But at the same time, the question I asked Kevin O'Connell was, do you think that Carson
00:59can bring you a spark?
01:00And, you know, he talked about how much they trust Carson and everything else, and I think
01:05that that's what they're looking for, is they're looking for a spark of this passing game to
01:08get the ball to Justin Jefferson, who was probably as demonstrative as you'll ever see him today
01:15when he talked.
01:15He didn't talk after the game, which always sends a message, but he talked about his frustration
01:20and how he felt like they should have won that game against Detroit if they had only made
01:24the plays that were there, which of course points to the guy who didn't make the plays.
01:28And I don't think there's any question about it.
01:30The last two games have been atrocious for Kyler Murray.
01:33Like, they just have not been consistent at all.
01:35But I also think that there's some other issues that go into that that could affect Carson Wentz
01:41as well.
01:41Like, I don't think Carson Wentz coming in is just a panacea.
01:45Everything is perfect and wonderful, and Wentz is going to throw for 350 and beat the Bills
01:49by 20 points.
01:50Like, there's problems with their run game, and there's problems with them in their play
01:55call sequencing of being in third down and 10 all the time because they're not running
02:01successfully, and they're running a lot on second down.
02:03So, you know, if you put Carson Wentz in the same situation, third down and long, six different
02:09times, Kyler Murray was in third and long against the Lions.
02:13Like, how often are you going to win that way?
02:15So, I think that they have more to work on than just the quarterback, but Wentz's knowledge
02:22of the system, he's a big-armed guy, he stands tall in the pocket, hangs with his reads.
02:27Like, we've seen him play competently before, and if they get competent, then, you know, they've
02:32got a chance to win this game.
