00:00We learned yesterday on the show, as much as I thought Craig Misch was
00:04finjana in me and completely punking me on the show.
00:08But it turns out that, yes, that we've got a problem with the University of
00:14Miami.
00:14So much so, Craig, that last night we watched that line shoot up to eight and
00:18a half against Notre Dame.
00:20Oh, my gosh.
00:21I didn't know that.
00:22It is high as eight and a half.
00:24And by the way, that was that hard rock bet, which is in Florida, which is where
00:28Miami is.
00:30So even Miami fans were running and fading.
00:32What is it now?
00:33But it's seven and a half.
00:35That's where it's settled here.
00:37There will be a chance that you're going to get a lot more Notre Dame money by the
00:43time kickoff.
00:43Very public team, Notre Dame.
00:45We all know it.
00:46They have been for years.
00:47So come closer to kickoff.
00:50We might see an eight, eight and a half.
00:52I say this because if you there's no rush, if you're thinking about Miami, there's
00:57no rush to hurry up and get the hook because I don't think it's going anywhere.
01:01Craig, I think it's only going to go towards Notre Dame.
01:04But I agree.
01:06I'm having a hard time in my head justifying because it appears like college football has
01:12become the NBA now, where all of a sudden, oh, by the way, the guy stubbed his toe.
01:19There's some sort of toe thing.
01:20And then an hour before game time, it's like, you know what?
01:23He's out a month.
01:23He's out two months.
01:24Sorry, we're going to surgery.
01:26That's exactly what in no way, shape or form did Malachi Tony twist his ankle in practice
01:34yesterday.
01:36We heard that.
01:38Yeah, he twisted it.
01:39But you know what?
01:39It's the magnitude of the game.
01:41Didn't we hear that?
01:42Great.
01:42The magnitude of the game is so great that don't he's going to give it a go.
01:47He's going to an hour later.
01:49No, no, he's not going under the knife.
01:51He's going to have surgery and hopefully we get him back.
01:54But there is no way that took place in two hours from twisting his ankle in practice and
02:01knowing it.
02:01So walk us through what is likely the timeline here from when there was a problem to be knowing
02:10that he's out for the rest of this.
02:13Not only is he not playing this game, but he is also likely out until at least hopefully
02:19maybe the playoffs because you don't go from twisting your ankle to surgery in a couple
02:24of hours, Craig, do you?
02:26Look, I don't know the answer and we're not going to get it.
02:29I know that he did leave the game against North Carolina.
02:31He left the game against North Carolina for a couple of plays.
02:34I do know that.
02:35And it was a leg injury of what they didn't really specify.
02:40So if you want to put two and two together, I certainly think that you can.
02:43I don't know the answer if that's really it.
02:45If it's pre-existing or something really did happen in practice, but but yeah, either
02:50way, like I, I think the, my, my take on Malachi Tony, as it pertains to you is twofold.
02:56I agree with you on one sense and I disagree on another.
02:59The way I agree with you is that I still think Miami can win the game without him.
03:03I think Miami's more talented.
03:05Miami's more explosive.
03:07The running backs, especially Mallory, who we've talked about is now really coming into
03:12his own.
03:13And they have two guys that are absolute studs there.
03:15So I agree with that.
03:16I, where I disagree with you is that I think you're downplaying the magnitude of what this
03:20player does mean though, to, to Miami.
03:22Like I, I, I, I, maybe, maybe you're not, and maybe I'm overstating it from what we talked
03:26about yesterday, but I think he is a top three offensive player in all of college football
03:33right now.
03:33Like, I don't think that you can name three better offensive players in college football.
03:38And that would include, I suppose, Jeremiah Smith, and then maybe whoever you think the
03:43best quarterback of the country is.
03:44I'm not really sure who that is at this point, but to me in watching his games and not just
03:49because I live here, I don't root for Miami.
03:51I went to UF.
03:51I, I just think that he is the biggest difference maker on the field.
03:56Like Belichick said, after the game, we knew exactly what he was going to do.
04:02He did exactly the same thing that he did in every game that we saw.
04:05We just could not stop this guy.
04:07Like, that's it.
04:08There's no, there was nothing else to say.
04:09Hey, we knew we covered him.
04:11He got open.
04:12He went off again.
04:13Like, that's it.
04:14And that's rare.
04:15That's like Jackson Smith in Jigba, Justin Jefferson, like that, like those kinds of guys
04:20that take over games.
04:22So Miami should not cry if they lose by 21 and say, if we would have had Tony, we would
04:28have won.
04:29Cause that's not going to be fair.
04:30And I'm not going to buy that, but I do think that it is a monster player being out to
04:36the degree of, I'm trying to think of a college football player, a non quarterback that moved
04:40a line, a point or two, that's not a quarterback, you know, like, and I'm, and I'm having a
04:45hard time thinking of one.
04:46So we'll, we'll see if it, if it's a factor or not, Joe, I do have a sense that if
04:52Miami
04:52wins and I think they can, by the way, and I probably would just take the points that it'll,
04:58that we'll just move on and, and maybe you'll be right.
05:00Maybe he's not a factor at all in, in this particular game, but unfortunately, Joe, what I'm
05:05getting from seeing my buddies and seeing social media is that the excuse is coming
05:10here for UM, if they don't win this.
05:12And then they're going to use this as the reason why they lost.
05:17And, and I'm not, I'm not going to go there.
05:19I don't think that would be the reason.
05:20I think the reason if Miami loses, cause they don't play D.
