00:00There is a golden opportunity, and this is not hyperbole, to bury Nick Sirianni, to absolutely
00:06end everything, to make the Eagles the ultimate losers, a seven-game losing streak on the
00:15Sunday before the NFL trade deadline next Tuesday.
00:19And also, simultaneously, make a statement, if you're J.J. McCarthy, if you're Malik
00:25neighbors, that the New York football giants are the class of the NFC East.
00:38The guys have scars, he has scars, and he's been wounded, he's been broken, he's been
00:42battered, you know, but you heal stronger, and you find, and you become better because
00:46of it, so you should be grateful, you know, okay, won a national championship, got a high
00:51pick for the Minnesota Vikings, was the guy after they let the veteran quarterback go
00:55to Seattle, fought my way through, but ended up not working out for me, got benched, got
01:00ridiculed, got traded, got traded, good, good, good on every single one of those counts, because
01:05it's made me stronger, it's made me who I am.
01:07And the quarterback has come in in a short period of time and really done a nice job, you
01:12know, for them to get him for a sixth-round pick is a steal.
01:18Absolutely love that, as a way to set up the Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles, listening
01:23to John Harbaugh and the Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio talk about J.J. McCarthy
01:31and the New York football Giants.
01:33And look, the Eagles are on a six-game losing streak.
01:37The Giants are in first place.
01:38But it's still, if you're a Giants fan, Eagles week.
01:43Woo, and that gets you going.
01:46And for the first time in literally forever, the Giants are favored in Philadelphia.
01:53I want you to take a look at this.
01:55The Giants haven't been favored over Philly since 2016.
02:02The Giants have lost 12 straight games in Philadelphia.
02:08Their last win in Philly, 2013.
02:13J.J. McCarthy understands the assignment.
02:16J.J. McCarthy is absolutely the right guy at the right time.
02:20And look, Vic Fangio is still Vic Fangio, which means he's one of the best defensive coordinators
02:25in the last 40 years in the NFL.
02:27The Eagles still have a lot of really good players on defense.
02:29But I don't see any way this group in Philly slows down the J.J. McCarthy-Malik Neighbors show.
02:39Look at what it says about Malik Neighbors on the screen right there.
02:42Malik Neighbors is on fire.
02:45And to do what he is doing after Jackson Dart got hurt, and to do it with not one, but
02:54two backup quarterbacks
02:56with Jameis Winston and J.J. McCarthy, that is unbelievable.
03:00Somehow, for a major market wide receiver, Malik Neighbors genius is flying under the radar.
03:09Malik Neighbors is going to be first or second team all pro.
03:13So, if we were voting right at the midway point of the season, which is right now, he would
03:18get one of my votes.
03:20Three players at wide receiver on the first team, three on the second team.
03:23And I think what Harbaugh said about J.J. McCarthy, it's accurate.
03:28And if you're a Giants fan, it's inspiring.
03:31You look at it, J.J. McCarthy is hardened.
03:34J.J. McCarthy has been through the ringer.
03:37J.J. McCarthy has been hurt.
03:39J.J. McCarthy has been awful.
03:40He's been ridiculed.
03:41He's been benched.
03:42And now, he is the quarterback of the New York football giants.
03:48These numbers against Houston, they were fantastic.
03:52The throws, the tight window throws that he made to Neighbors, to Isaiah Likely, absolutely
03:58incredible.
03:59And this is a golden opportunity here for J.J. to go on the road with the Giants' favorite
04:05in Philly and to win this football game.
04:07And it's absolutely incredible.
04:09You look at the standings in the NFC East, and this is a giant opportunity for the Giants.
04:16The Dallas Cowboys should win this week.
04:18They have the Indianapolis Colts.
04:19But the Giants just need to handle business and what's in front of them.
04:25It's as simple as that.
04:26And you take a look at the nuggets of futility here for the Philadelphia Eagles on defense.
04:32Listen, I expect the Giants to be able to absolutely shred this football team.
04:39I really think that this is a shell of what it was if you're a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles
04:45and a golden opportunity here for the New York football Giants.
04:49And by the way, this just in, some monster breaking news today with the Philadelphia Eagles.
04:56And it's not a huge surprise, but it is noteworthy.
05:00Tanner McKee, the backup quarterback, benched.
05:04Joe Milton is going to get the start.
05:07Joe Milton.
05:09So if you're the Giants on defense, and this defense has been so tough and so clutch, you're making plays
05:15all over the field, you've got to be licking your chops.
05:19And by the way, it's Eagle Week.
05:22And I know we mentioned that, but it's Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles.
05:27This is still the hated, heated rivalry of all rivalries if you're a Giants fan.
05:32It's still, you think about Randall Cunningham and Reggie White and Buddy Ryan and Phil Simms and Bill Parcells and
05:41Lawrence Taylor.
05:42And then you think about Saquon Barkley running away from the Giants to the Eagles and having the greatest single
05:50season ever in the history of the NFL at the running back position, regular season and postseason, and leading the
05:56Eagles to a championship.
05:57You start thinking about the Sean Jackson.
06:00You start thinking about all these moments between these teams.
06:04And now there is a golden opportunity, and this is not hyperbole, to bury Nick Sirianni, to absolutely end everything,
06:13to make the Eagles the ultimate losers, a seven-game losing streak on the Sunday before the NFL trade deadline
06:23next Tuesday.
06:24And also, simultaneously, make a statement if you're J.J. McCarthy, if you're Malik Nabors, that the New York football
06:33Giants are the class of the NFC East.
06:37Honestly, this is what you live for if you're a Giants fan.
06:41A golden opportunity to ultimately put a stamp on the division and simultaneously bury the Philadelphia Eagles.
06:51They could have a fire sale, the Eagles, on Tuesday after the Giants dismantle them and destroy them on Sunday.
06:59Nick Sirianni might get buried and might not be able to ever recover based upon losing to the Giants at
07:06home.
07:07That never happens, as we showed you.
07:09So this, this is a big deal.
07:12Some games on the slate feel bigger.
07:15They are bigger.
07:16They get the fan base going.
07:18They get the, and you saw the clip to start the show, John Harbaugh going.
07:22If you're a Giants fan, this is a golden opportunity.
07:26It's your time to shine.
07:28I can't wait for the Giants to bury the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
07:34To college football now.
07:35It's utter chaos.
07:36What else would make my guy, John Fanta, start screaming about Notre Dame like this?
07:42The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have heard for two years about not getting the marquee win and their schedule and
07:50this and that.
07:51And then at BYU, well, they couldn't come through.
07:53They didn't play angry early.
07:56Get fired up, get angry, come out and make a statement.
07:59You can be the better football team.
08:01You have the arsenal.
08:03You have the pieces.
08:04You're going to have the home atmosphere.
08:06We want to talk about the time is now.
08:08Saturday night, I want to see an angry Irish team because they can be better than Miami in this game.
08:13You got to go out and do it.
08:16The college football playoff rankings came out last night and it was a complete and utter disaster.
08:24A hot mess.
08:25I always tell myself I'm not going to make a big deal about the college football playoff rankings until the
08:31final version because it's just made for TV and it doesn't count and it doesn't really matter.
08:37I thought last night the ratings and rankings were illogical, inconsistent, and clearly in that room, there were no ball
08:46doers.
08:46No one in that committee actually has watched college football this year.
08:51And there's no greater example than what transpired with Notre Dame.
08:56I have issues all across the board, all over the place, but what they did to the fighting Irish was
09:04an absolute disgrace.
09:06A complete and utter embarrassment.
09:11Notre Dame at 11?
09:13What the hell is that?
09:15Seriously.
09:16Notre Dame has one loss this year to BYU.
09:19And the fact that they lost against BYU, and we talked about this after the game, it was on the
09:25road, against a highly ranked BYU team, number nine in the college football rankings.
09:29They lose to BYU in a game where the officials screwed Notre Dame at the end.
09:36And it's not Notre Dame's fault here that, you look at who's on their schedule, oh, an easy schedule.
09:43They had Wisconsin.
09:45They had Purdue.
09:47They had North Carolina.
09:49It's not their fault that these teams are unable to live up to their expectations.
09:55Simple as that.
09:56So I don't want to hear it that the schedule was a mess.
09:59I don't want to hear that.
10:01That's not right.
10:01That's not fair.
10:02And I don't think that they should have been number one, but by putting them at 11, basically, they are
10:10saying that if Notre Dame loses to Miami this weekend, Notre Dame's out.
10:15Notre Dame can't make the college football playoffs.
10:18If anyone has watched college football this year, you know what I know, that Notre Dame, at worst, is a
10:28top six team.
10:29And really, a top four team.
10:31We've talked about it consistently.
10:33When you start talking about four teams that could win a championship in college football this year and survive the
10:38chaos and the zaniness, Notre Dame's on my list.
10:41I mean, that's crazy.
10:43By the way, if you want to start using metrics and analytics, Notre Dame is the highest rated team, the
10:48Sagan ratings.
10:50Let's be clear about that.
10:51And top three on the offensive and defensive efficiency ratings.
10:56So how the hell are they at number 11?
10:59If they lose to Miami, it's over.
11:03And by the way, I'll give you a preview of a pick.
11:05I'm picking Notre Dame to win.
11:07But that's a flip of the coin game.
11:09And this makes no sense.
11:12Absolutely no sense.
11:13But you're going to ding Notre Dame for the schedule?
11:16But Indiana, who hasn't played anyone, they're good enough to be in the top four?
11:22Get the hell out of here.
11:23Get the hell out of here.
11:26If I'm a fighting Irish fan, live it.
11:29I am disgusted.
11:31That is deplorable.
11:32That is awful.
11:33That is a joke.
11:36I'm sick.
11:38This committee has no idea what the hell it's doing.
11:41Next order of business, the SEC, where the Georgia Bulldogs are feeling strong.
11:46Jones drop it.
11:47Jones hit.
11:48The ball is loose.
11:49It's rolling around.
11:50Georgia picks it up around the 35.
11:52Dogs coming back around midfield.
11:54Dogs at the 45 to the 40.
11:56Here's Chris Cole sprinting.
11:57Chris Cole at the 10, the 5.
12:00Touchdown!
12:02Georgia should feel great.
12:04And Georgia is the number two team in the country.
12:08And frankly, and they've got a big game with Ole Miss coming up.
12:11I trust Kirby Smart and I trust Georgia more than I trust anybody else right now when you
12:18look at the landscape of college football.
12:21Basically, one of the other big takes from what transpired yesterday with the college football
12:26playoff rankings in the first release.
12:30The SEC is going to get a slew of teams in and the SEC is going to get a couple
12:37of three
12:37lost teams ultimately in the college football playoffs.
12:40I mean, the fact that UCLA is undefeated and they are behind two, two lost SEC teams, Alabama
12:49and Texas, that's an embarrassing, pathetic disgrace.
12:53That, simply put, cannot happen.
12:55Five SEC teams in the top 10.
12:59That's amateur hour.
13:01Complete and utter amateur hour.
13:03It makes no sense.
13:05And they were just basically making this up as they would go along so this way the SEC can
13:12get all the teams that they need in the college football playoffs.
13:15I actually predict that we're going to end up having two, three lost SEC teams.
13:21I mean, they're basically telling you that no matter what Alabama does down the stretch of
13:26the season, Alabama's in.
13:27I mean, Alabama being as high as it is, you know, and it's, you know, eight slots ahead of Tennessee
13:33and Tennessee destroyed Alabama.
13:36I mean, this is a joke.
13:38It's setting it up where Texas, if Texas loses another game, Texas is, it's crazy, completely crazy.
13:46Makes no sense.
13:47I feel, I feel terrible for Wake Forest.
13:51I feel absolutely terrible for UCLA.
13:54UCLA being undefeated and not getting any kind of respect, that is a joke.
13:59And honestly, I feel bad for Ohio State.
14:04And I declared on Monday here on Shine Time that Ohio State is cooked.
14:08They're out, right?
14:09But that should be, in terms of rankings,
14:13you should let nature take its course and they should lose against Oregon
14:18and then they should be out at the end of this week, not now.
14:23Because, yes, the offense was gross without Julian saying it.
14:26And, yes, the defense was terrible against USC.
14:30By the way, USC, all of a sudden, you know, they only have two losses,
14:33not a bad team, and let's see what transpires, right?
14:35I mean, Lincoln Riley has a lot of great players.
14:38They've just underachieved.
14:39But you had the committee chair last night lying through his teeth on criteria,
14:48saying head-to-head only matters if you're in the same pod.
14:51Well, how do you even define a pod?
14:54I mean, Indiana hasn't beaten anyone this year.
14:57I mean, it's an embarrassment.
14:59We look at their out-of-conference schedule.
15:00They were very lucky to beat Minnesota as a team.
15:03You know, Cignetti, who I love, end of regulation,
15:06totally screwed up the clock.
15:08You know, 60-yard field goals, Minnesota and Indiana exchanging.
15:11It was a wild scene.
15:12The offense looks terrible.
15:14The quarterback is heard.
15:15Ohio State beat Indiana.
15:17So they're not in the same grouping?
15:19I mean, it's just the whole thing is a joke, a complete and utter joke.
15:24And considering, and this ties in here with the SEC,
15:27the Big Ten has won three consecutive titles in the last three years,
15:32different teams with Michigan and Ohio State and, you know,
15:36last year with Indiana, it's like they're stacking the deck here for the SEC.
15:41What a mess.
15:42What a fiasco.
15:43Look, Ohio State is not making it,
15:46and that would have ultimately been the case on the field.
15:50I think Oregon could beat them this week because that offense is just a complete
15:54and utter mess where if you don't have Julian Sane right now,
15:57the quarterback position, he's not playing for the rest of the year.
16:00But that was just completely unfair to Ohio State.
16:05There is no consistency on how they're judging these teams.
16:10And honestly, at the end of the day,
16:12bring on 24 teams for the college football playoffs.
16:21Ah, yes.
16:23Is it hot in here?
16:25Or is that just the heats from our Wednesday burning questions?
16:31Question number one involves those very excited felines.
16:35Hey!
16:36Hey!
16:36Oh, stop!
16:39Great job, boys.
16:40We got to keep it rolling, all right?
16:42Short week.
16:42Great job, boys.
16:43Take care of our business these next three days.
16:46Question number one.
16:47Are the Jacksonville Jaguars legitimate Super Bowl contenders?
16:52The answer is yes.
16:55Absolutely.
16:56And if you say anything else, you're not paying attention.
17:00The Jacksonville Jaguars, to me, are the fourth most likely team to win the Super Bowl.
17:07Buffalo, Chicago, San Francisco, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
17:14Take a look at these nuggets of domination.
17:17Take a look at how this team handles business.
17:22Take a look at what they do on defense in terms of stopping the run.
17:26Take a look at what they do with regards to Trevor Lawrence,
17:29who deserves some back-of-the-ballot, 3-4-5 consideration for NFL MVP.
17:36Take a look at the point differential.
17:39They're not just winning.
17:41They're kicking ass in taking names.
17:44They are brilliantly coached.
17:46They are solid in every phase.
17:49The O-line is good.
17:51The quarterback is great.
17:53Parker Washington is a stud.
17:55Depth and talent at the skilled positions.
17:58They can run the ball with authority.
18:00The defense is strong on every single level,
18:03even with a key injury at the defensive tackle position.
18:06They just handled the sell-and-everyone Indianapolis Colts,
18:11which is important here.
18:12If you think there's any shot, there's not,
18:15that they're going to overlook the Baltimore Ravens,
18:17who are down to their third-string no-name quarterback.
18:20I think the Jacksonville Jaguars absolutely can hoist a Lombardi trophy.
18:25And if you're surprised, that means you're just not paying attention.
18:30This team deserves love, credit, and respect from the media elite.
18:36Burning question number two.
18:39Is the AFC playoff picture already set?
18:43Let's see what Texans head coach D'Amico Ryans has to say on the subject.
18:48Not where we want to be, but hey, what do you do about it?
18:52Strap it up, let's go.
18:53And that's my mindset.
18:55Hopefully that's our team's mindset.
18:57We still got to go attack this thing the right way
18:59and find a way to, you know, hit a reset here at the bye week.
19:05I am obsessed with the topic of,
19:09do we already know the seven teams that are in the playoffs in the AFC?
19:14Because I do think that D'Amico Ryans, Houston Texans,
19:18are the flying the ointment to this theory and this question.
19:22Is the AFC playoff picture already set?
19:25Well, I want you to look at this.
19:27This is what we have one through seven, right?
19:31Bills, Broncos, Steelers, Jaguars, Chiefs, Bengals, Patriots.
19:39There is a very realistic shot that these teams are the seven.
19:45Let's be crystal clear.
19:46Also, when you look at the bottom, Baltimore is dead.
19:51I can't trust the Vegas Raiders.
19:55And Cleveland, I think, can hit 10 wins.
19:59Also, Deshaun Watson, it was announced today, is in concussion protocol.
20:03And Shador Sanders right now is on track to start for the Cleveland Browns
20:09when they take on the Saints in New Orleans.
20:11So, there's a real shot.
20:13Buffalo, Denver, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Cincinnati, and New England are those seven teams.
20:21Now, with that said, the Houston Texans, to me, are the squad to watch.
20:27I want you to take a look at their schedule.
20:29The Houston Texans, obviously, are behind the eight ball when it comes to wins and losses, right?
20:36They only have two.
20:39They have the gift of the Chargers.
20:41That's three.
20:42They have Cleveland.
20:43That's a game they absolutely could win.
20:45They should be able to win their next four games.
20:50I will pick them, barring anything unforeseen, to beat the Chargers, to beat the Browns,
20:56to beat the Colts, to beat the Baltimore Ravens.
20:58I will pick them to beat Washington.
21:01In theory, they should be able to beat the great Jacksonville Jaguars at home in Houston.
21:08That's a rivalry game, divisional rivalry.
21:10You kind of say, all right, you have the ability to split.
21:14I know they already took one, but I think, you know, at the end of the day,
21:17they can absolutely take another.
21:19That original game was in London.
21:21Now, they'll have a game at home.
21:22I think, you know, that's a great thing here for the Houston Texans.
21:26The Eagles are cooked, and they have the Titans.
21:29So, look at that.
21:31Let's do some math together.
21:33Chargers, Browns, Colts, Ravens, Washington, Jacksonville, Philadelphia, Tennessee.
21:43They can hit 10 wins.
21:46That's not crazy.
21:48Now, look at the Cleveland Browns.
21:49The Cleveland Browns, I think, will be in position to also hit 10 wins
21:56if there is health at the quarterback position.
22:00Again, Watson is in concussion protocol.
22:03Shadour Sanders would start this week if, in fact, at the end of the day,
22:08that Watson is not clear to play against New Orleans.
22:11But it's that game against Houston, and I know it's in Cleveland,
22:16but if Houston beats Cleveland, that'll be the tiebreaker,
22:22which is a wild concept, but it's true.
22:25I always refer to that as one of those wheel stop spinning games
22:29where you look at it and say this can have, will have a major impact
22:33on the standings at the end of a season.
22:35So, I want you to take a look at the Patriots schedule
22:39because the New England Patriots, to me, that's the squad
22:42that I didn't believe in before the season.
22:44Drake May, to his credit, is on fire.
22:47I think this Week 9 game for the Patriots at home
22:51against the Green Bay Packers,
22:53I think that this is one of the biggest swing games
22:57of the entire season in the entire league.
22:59This impacts the wild card in the AFC,
23:02the wild card in the NFC, the NFC North.
23:04This is one of the most fascinating and loaded games ever.
23:08Drake May, you saw him.
23:09He was one of my guys yesterday.
23:10He's on fire.
23:12I mean, the last few weeks, Drake May is back to being
23:14last year's Drake May.
23:16And, you know, the Patriots have some games
23:19that they can absolutely lose.
23:21You know, Green Bay included, Detroit's included,
23:24Buffalo included, Minnesota included, Kansas City included.
23:29At the Jets, we'll see where they're at.
23:31You know, if there was a different coach,
23:34I would say the Jets can absolutely win that game.
23:36And Denver.
23:38I mean, those are games.
23:39Green Bay, Detroit, Buffalo, Minnesota, Kansas City, and Denver.
23:46Six of them!
23:47That can genuinely go either way,
23:50and or you could easily see the New England Patriots
23:53losing those games.
23:54So, I think of the seven teams that are in,
23:59New England's the most vulnerable.
24:01And I think the one that has the biggest opportunity
24:05to ultimately find a way to get into the playoffs
24:10would be the Houston Texans.
24:12Now, to answer the question,
24:15the prediction is it's already set.
24:18And that sucks, right?
24:19You don't want to see that,
24:20the seven teams at the midway point of the season.
24:22So, if you're asking me as a talk show host
24:25and as a betting man,
24:26do I think those are the seven teams,
24:29and order will obviously fluctuate and change?
24:31Yes.
24:31Yes, I do.
24:32I think it's the Houston Texans, though,
24:35as the fly in the ointment.
24:37Question three.
24:38Which NFL contender needs a blockbuster trade?
24:40Well, here's one.
24:42You know, we have to learn from it.
24:43That's what you do,
24:44and you move on and work on the next one,
24:48which is a good judge team coming in.
24:50So, we'll be ready to go.
24:52That's Andy Reid, and they need a trade.
24:55And, listen, the Kansas City Chiefs
24:57are one of two contenders
24:59that I think must make a trade at the deadline.
25:03Kansas City needs a wide receiver.
25:04Kansas City, that's the team
25:06that I think you look at and say,
25:07okay, downs is available from the Colts, find a way.
25:12Brian Thomas Jr. is available from the Jags, find a way.
25:14Look at these nuggets of futility here.
25:18Man, sometimes stats lie, sometimes they speak volumes.
25:21Fifth fewest receiving yards
25:23from a wide receiver this season.
25:25I mean, these are the Chiefs.
25:27The receiving core is awful.
25:29It's terrible.
25:3016 different wide receivers since 2023,
25:33which is code for Patrick Mahomes,
25:35doesn't know who the hell he's throwing to.
25:37Andy Reid and Eric Yenemi don't know
25:39who they're calling plays for.
25:40And Patrick Mahomes, an NFL low,
25:434.2 yards per attempt targeting receivers
25:46during this losing streak,
25:48which, you know, I think is very indicative
25:51of where the Kansas City Chiefs are.
25:52So, the Chiefs need a wide receiver,
25:55and the Bills need a defensive back.
25:57The Bills' offense is the best in the game.
26:00Their defense, you could argue, is the worst.
26:03The nuggets of futility on the Buffalo defense,
26:06it's just awful.
26:08Look at this.
26:09Points per game, I mean, you take a look at,
26:13and this is an important one,
26:15points per game by a Super Bowl champ,
26:17and how it relates to points per game this season,
26:21because the Bills have one goal in mind,
26:23and that's to win a championship,
26:24and they stole my pick to win a Super Bowl,
26:26as you know.
26:27I mean, it's go time.
26:29So, you know, I think Hooker from Tennessee
26:31would make a lot of sense.
26:32They need a DB in the worst possible way.
26:36I don't think there's any doubts about that.
26:39The next topic, are the Seattle Seahawks cooked?
26:43Well, Seattle's in some major trouble.
26:47And that was my take yesterday,
26:51before the news today,
26:53that Mike McDonald announced Sam Darnold is injured,
26:58and Drew Locke is back under center
27:02as the starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks.
27:06Wow.
27:07Check the schedule.
27:09Drew Locke under center is not a good thing.
27:13Plus, you start looking at Seattle at 4-4.
27:16If the playoffs started today, they're out.
27:18You know, Arizona's pesky.
27:20Just gonna throw that out there.
27:21I expect Seattle to win, but Arizona is pesky.
27:25Look at some of these spots
27:27where they still have to play in Vegas,
27:31in San Francisco.
27:32They have to play the Cowboys.
27:34And again, Dallas has not been great,
27:36but it's still Dak and C.D. Lamb.
27:37They have to play the Giants.
27:39That's gonna be a tough game.
27:41They have to play the Rams twice,
27:45including on Christmas,
27:47and obviously the last week of the season.
27:50And Carolina and Carolina should be a win.
27:52But listen,
27:54the way Seattle has played,
27:57some of these losses,
27:58I mean,
27:59the Seahawks are 4-4.
28:02I still think that they can find a way
28:06to make the playoffs,
28:07but I put the Rams ahead of them,
28:10and we said that consistently all week.
28:13We said that last week
28:14in preparation for the Rams winning
28:16and for Seattle losing,
28:18and then it got even more magnified and worse.
28:20Rams were even better than I expected.
28:22Seahawks are even worse than I expected.
28:24And now Sam Darnold is injured.
28:27This is a big deal.
28:29Plus,
28:30everybody in the NFC North
28:32is ahead of them right now.
28:33So that's troublesome.
28:36That's problematic.
28:37The champs are in monster trouble.
28:40I don't think there's any question about that.
28:42And you take a look at the conference standings.
28:46I can't stress this enough.
28:48For all the negativity,
28:49Rams and Seahawks have the same record,
28:51and I feel much better about the Rams
28:53who have Miles Garrett
28:54returning to practice this week.
28:56And right now,
28:57I trust all of those teams in the NFC North
29:00more than I trust the Seattle Seahawks.
29:03Burning question number five.
29:05Should the Jets blow it all up
29:07at the trade deadline?
29:09Let's ask Garrett Wilson
29:10if he's ready for a change.
29:12You want to be here,
29:12is what you're saying.
29:13I don't want to put words in your mouth.
29:15Yeah, I want to be here, man.
29:16I want to win games.
29:18And that's the one thing
29:20we've been missing on here.
29:21I love it here.
29:24Do I love it more than I love winning?
29:27Nah, to be completely honest.
29:30But I'm hopeful.
29:33I've never been the best optimistic guy,
29:35but I done found a way.
29:36I done dug deep,
29:37and I've been optimistic
29:38for three, four, five years now.
29:41That's why these ones
29:41each weekend hurt a little more.
29:45I feel for Garrett Wilson.
29:47Terrific player.
29:48He deserves better.
29:50So there's all sorts of conversation
29:52on whether or not
29:53the Jets should blow it up.
29:55I want to be crystal clear
29:57on my answer.
29:59Absolutely, positively not.
30:01They need to fire their coach.
30:03They will fire their coach.
30:04But anyone who's a good player,
30:07anyone who's a great player,
30:09anyone who can help the Jets win
30:11in 2027 and beyond
30:14should not be traded
30:15under any circumstance.
30:18Also, draft picks.
30:20This is the eye on the prize
30:23when you look at it
30:24if you're the Jets
30:25or a Jets fan.
30:27And I'm going to assume
30:29Muji, the GM,
30:31will still be here,
30:31even with a new head coach.
30:33So Garrett Wilson
30:35is not for sale.
30:36You don't need to get
30:37a first-round pick
30:38from San Francisco
30:40back in return
30:41for Garrett Wilson.
30:42You don't need
30:43a Chiefs first-round pick.
30:44Yeah, I have three
30:45first-round picks.
30:47It's what do you do
30:48with a different head coach
30:50and Garrett Wilson
30:51and three first-round picks.
30:55Let's move to baseball
30:57for another burning question.
30:58Is the latest MLB proposal fair?
31:00Before I answer that,
31:01I'd like to remind
31:02Mr. Commissioner
31:02of my off-season edict.
31:05If you ruin this
31:07with a work stoppage,
31:08Rob Manfred,
31:09I'm going to be on your ass
31:10on shine time
31:11every single day.
31:12I'm telling you right now,
31:13I will not rest
31:15in any way, shape, or form.
31:17Don't you dare ruin
31:18the game that I love.
31:20Baseball has been hotter
31:22and better than ever.
31:23Don't give me a work stoppage.
31:24Don't do it.
31:26I will be very angry
31:28if we have a work stoppage.
31:30I am not a Rob Manfred fan.
31:33Is the latest MLB proposal fair?
31:37Yeah.
31:38It is.
31:39I want you to take a look
31:40at some of the details
31:41because I find
31:44the salary cap floor
31:46a big deal.
31:49where Manfred is going
31:51to force the owners
31:52and they've agreed upon it
31:54because I've always argued
31:55the teams that don't spend
31:57are worse for the game
31:59than the teams that do spend.
32:01And frankly,
32:02if the Players Association,
32:04and this is where
32:04I get on them,
32:06if they can ever get
32:07their heads
32:08out of their collective
32:09derrieres,
32:10they're only thinking
32:11of the top guys, right?
32:12Because if you have
32:13a bidding war for stars
32:15between the Dodgers
32:16and the Blue Jays
32:17and the Giants
32:18and the Mets,
32:19well, that all helps
32:20set a market.
32:21But if you could help out
32:23the average player,
32:25the good player,
32:27with a salary cap floor
32:28and have baseball
32:30more competitive,
32:31which would equal
32:32more in terms of buzz
32:34and TV ratings
32:36and TV deals
32:37and what goes
32:37into the player's pocket,
32:39that would be better
32:40for the players
32:40and better for the game.
32:42So I will defend Manfred
32:44on this.
32:45I think this is
32:46a pretty great proposal.
32:49Hit Players Association.
32:52You up?
32:53But wait, there's more.
32:59I don't know.
33:00Uh, Fignano.
33:03Next.
33:06Fignano.
33:07Fignano.
33:09Fignano.
33:10Joe Fignano.
33:12Joe Fignano.
33:13Baltimore Ravens
33:14starting quarterback
33:15tomorrow night
33:16against Jacksonville,
33:17Joe Fignano.
33:19Here's the good news.
33:20I don't have to worry
33:21about pronouncing it
33:22after tomorrow
33:23because as we predicted
33:25on Shine Time yesterday,
33:27the Baltimore Ravens
33:28just traded
33:29for Jacoby Brissette.
33:31This is why
33:32they demoted him
33:32to third string.
33:34Minshew, Beck,
33:35they had to trade him.
33:36The Ravens needed
33:37a professional quarterback,
33:38Jacoby Brissette.
33:40Been around the block.
33:41Super smart.
33:42Can complete the forward pass.
33:44So, Joe Fignano,
33:45thanks for teaching America
33:46how to pronounce your name.
33:48Now,
33:48I never want to see you
33:50ever again.
33:51That's the show.
33:52If you miss any portion
33:53of the show,
33:53just do what I do.
33:54Watch it over and over again.
