00:00The Giants take care of business.
00:03John Harbaugh and the Giants.
00:05The first place Giants.
00:08J.J. McCarthy and the Giants.
00:11Cam Scadaboo and the Giants.
00:14This was incredible stuff.
00:16And by the way, we're live.
00:18Because we can play this back whenever Aaron Glenn gets fired.
00:22He's done. He's the worst.
00:24Rich Cotite-esque.
00:26You can't lose at home to the Miami Dolphins.
00:28You can't.
00:36You know, that's something that we should have done is use our timeouts.
00:44I'm not a big fan of the refs right now.
00:47I don't think it's great officiating, if I'm being completely honest.
00:50I think it's bullshit a lot of the times.
00:55All right, the joy in this locker room is what we always chase.
00:58If I'm not the best option, then I don't want to be out there either.
01:02Party at the Giants?
01:03Yeah!
01:05The resilience.
01:06The will to finish, no matter what it looks like.
01:08I fucking love you, boys.
01:10I'm having fun, man.
01:11Oh, we're having fun.
01:14I love Mondays.
01:15Best day of the week, especially after a banger wall-to-wall action from early in the morning
01:21in Paris to Sunday night football in Seattle, an epic NFL Sunday.
01:26And I thought the biggest story in the entire league, the New York football giants.
01:33How about the New York football giants and what they were able to accomplish all running games,
01:40baby?
01:41I honestly thought this was as great as it gets if you're a Giants fan.
01:47And think about this.
01:48And I picked the Giants with the points.
01:50I had Houston winning the game 27-23.
01:53The Giants were 10-and-a-half-point dogs.
01:56And they go on the road into Houston.
02:00Everyone and their mother picked the Texans to win, to cover the spread.
02:04The Giants take care of business.
02:07John Harbaugh and the Giants.
02:10The first-place Giants.
02:12J.J. McCarthy and the Giants.
02:15Cam Scadaboo and the Giants.
02:18This was incredible stuff.
02:20Let's start with the run game.
02:22This running attack was brilliant and breathtaking.
02:25And wow, what a credit to John Harbaugh.
02:30He buried and benched Cam Scadaboo after what transpired.
02:35And you saw the grotesque, unacceptable fumble in overtime against Washington.
02:41And he didn't get a carry against the New Orleans Saints.
02:45Well, obviously, he had a great week of practice.
02:48He learned his lesson.
02:50They cut Najee Harris, who wasn't happy.
02:52He didn't get the requisite touches.
02:53So he was complaining about the flow.
02:56Enjoy the couch, Najee.
02:58Go back to being a street-free agent.
03:01Scadaboo, 124 yards.
03:04Touchdown on 17 carries.
03:06Tyrone Tracy scored an early touchdown.
03:08But it was Scadaboo and Devin Singletary and what they did in overtime to give the Giants an unbelievable victory.
03:17You saw Scadaboo in overtime.
03:20Bam.
03:2142 yards.
03:22That was incredible.
03:24He was able to just run past and run over and run through the beleaguered Texans defense.
03:30Then the very next play, bam, Devin Singletary, motor against his former team.
03:37That was unbelievable.
03:38And the Giants players went absolutely nuts.
03:42Harbaugh went nuts.
03:43And that scene in the locker room, the smiles, the joy, the jubilation, the speeches, it was off the charts.
03:51Especially what J.J. McCarthy had to say.
03:54And watching J.J. McCarthy play, as we predicted, was amazing.
04:00And if you're a Giants fan, this was a giant deal.
04:05First of all, it's Harbaugh who pulls the trigger on the quarterback change.
04:09We told you that it wasn't even a difficult decision.
04:12It would be matter-of-fact.
04:14It was the right move.
04:14It was the only move.
04:16And you see the numbers on the screen?
04:17You watch J.J. McCarthy play?
04:19When you saw him make those pinpoint throws, the deep ball was on fire.
04:25The rapport he had with Malik Neighbors, as we said, was going to be the case.
04:30You saw it in the New Orleans game in the fourth quarter, and then you saw it in Houston yesterday.
04:36This is why you give the Giants credit for making the trade.
04:41This is why, 30 days ago, when the Giants made the trade, I said this was going to pay major
04:46dividends.
04:47When Jackson Dart got hurt, they go out and they get J.J. McCarthy.
04:51Because for John Harbaugh, it's not Vikings bust J.J. McCarthy.
04:55It's the guy who delivered my brother a national championship in Michigan.
04:59Change the scenery.
05:00You give him the offense with Matt Nagy calling the plays.
05:03Did you see Matt Nagy's smile when J.J. McCarthy was talking in the locker room?
05:09Did you see?
05:10He couldn't.
05:10There was a shot of Nagy in the corner.
05:12He couldn't stop smiling because J.J. McCarthy has all the talent, all the tangibles, all
05:20the intangibles, everything you want in a franchise quarterback, which is why you give him a fifth
05:26round pick for him, which is why you play him over Jameis Winston, which is why he might
05:32end up being better than Jackson Dart.
05:35Is it premature to have this conversation?
05:37No, because we have this conversation on Shine Time.
05:40I can't speak for anyone else, well, the Giants made the trade.
05:43Listen, he was broken in Minnesota.
05:46First year, rookie season, injured, didn't even have a practice rep, let alone an actual
05:53rep in a game.
05:54Up and down the year last year, buried by Kevin O'Connell, beat out by not only Kyler
06:01Murray, by Carson Wentz, but J.J. McCarthy, coming out of Michigan, I thought he was going
06:08to be terrific.
06:09And yesterday, some of those throws that he made, the connection with neighbors, like
06:14that's the guy.
06:16That's the guy we saw win a championship on the collegiate level.
06:20That's the guy I made a case for, that the Giants should consider if they didn't draft
06:24Malik Neighbors with that number one pick that they had in the draft, six overall a few
06:29years ago.
06:29So, this to me was terrific.
06:32And let's also raise the bar here, right?
06:35We'll have a Philadelphia Eagles-Dallas Cowboys game tonight, and I've been saying forever,
06:41and I still, for the most part, believe it, Dallas, Dallas, Dallas, in terms of who wins
06:47the division.
06:47My take, my preseason pick, still have the most talent.
06:51Vegas still favors the Cowboys.
06:53Listen, I have to give credit here and respect to the Giants.
06:56The Corners are playing well, Abdu Carter's playing well, McCarthy gives them a chance
07:01to win, Neighbors is playing like a top five wide receiver in the NFL, they ran the ball
07:09with authority, Scadaboo listened to Harbaugh, Harbaugh motivated him, I sort of like the
07:15backflip from Scadaboo, but I guess you could do that when you're going over 100 yards and
07:19getting into the end zone and not only holding on to the football in overtime, you're dominant
07:24and over time.
07:25So now we need to start thinking about more, bigger picture.
07:30Giants are in first, bye week coming up.
07:32Now it's time to wrap our brains around this, playoff football.
07:37Now is the, because of the genius of Harbaugh, the genius of how he's handled the entire team,
07:44the culture, the incredible J.J. McCarthy deal, the Giants can beat anyone, anytime, anywhere.
07:50Let's, let's just call it like it is. Burns is out for the year, darts out for the year,
07:55key players, key injuries all over the field. It doesn't matter. And I'm not saying Giants
08:00are absolutely making the playoffs and I still kind of like Dallas. I'm not screaming that,
08:05you know, they're going to go on some kind of run. If this team is playing meaningful
08:09games in December into week 17 and week 18 in January, it's a monster successful season.
08:16There's a real shot. Giants will be hosting a playoff game. We called the league before the
08:20show. Whoever wins the NFC East makes the playoffs. That's right. Why not the Giants? Why not J.J.
08:27McCarthy and the Giants? Why not John Harbaugh and the Giants? And listen, it's early, but we talked
08:34about this. McCarthy plays like this the rest of the season. We're going to have a conversation about
08:38who the Giants quarterback is going to be. And this is why when you have a chance to get a
08:42former
08:42first-round pick who was your brother's quarterback in college and they won a championship together,
08:47this is the easiest trade, easiest decision to start them you'll ever see. Oh man, this was an
08:54unbelievable win. Great for your sports soul. Giants had a stretch like this with a head coach since
09:00the Tom Coughlin days. Like this, this is, this is it. An identity. They play outside their talent.
09:07They're smart. This is everything you want as a fan. Well, I love this. I give J.J. McCarthy credit.
09:16I give Harbaugh credit. I give Cam Scadaboo credit. We destroyed him last week. I still don't think
09:23that Harbaugh loves him. I don't. But obviously, and I credit Scadaboo. He took to the benching.
09:29He didn't get a carry. He could have just folded up like a cheap suit. He played his ass off.
09:34He was
09:35superb. Scadaboo deserves credit. Harbaugh deserves credit. Tyrone Tracy was in the mix. Likely was in
09:43the mix. The whole thing for the Giants was great for your sports soul. The Giants have a real shot
09:50to
09:50make the playoffs. No dart, no burns. With Harbaugh, no problem. This is amazing. I mean, Giants fans
09:58haven't felt this kind of joy from their football team. This kind of pride from their football team
10:05in a long time. To the Jets. Well, remember what I told you on Friday? Here's a reminder.
10:14Which leads me to this. You can't say that a game necessarily is a must win for a 2-4
10:20team.
10:20But it's a you-can't-lose game for Aaron Glenn. If Aaron Glenn loses to the Miami Dolphins, and the
10:30Jets are the
10:30better team playing at home, and the Dolphins haven't had a lead all season long, the Jets' defense is
10:36good. The Jets' offense is good. Geno Smith is good. Garrett Wilson is great. Allen can run the football.
10:43The line is good. If the Jets lose this game, it's over for Aaron Glenn. It's over.
10:51Aaron Glenn's done. And that doesn't mean this is a New York Post sports breaking news alert that the
10:56Jets have fired Aaron Glenn. The only question is when. When's the expiration date? Look at the back
11:02of the milk card. See when it says he's ultimately going to get fired. Is it going to be after
11:07the
11:07Raiders game when they lose to the Raiders? Is it going to be after the next time they lose to
11:11the
11:11Dolphins? Is it going to be in a month? Is it going to be after Black Monday when the season
11:16is done?
11:16Aaron Glenn's done. Aaron Glenn's done. That was the most putrid loss I have ever seen.
11:23I want you to look at this board. I don't know which nugget of futility here
11:29hits it home that Aaron Glenn needs to go. He is the ex-coach of the Jets. You can't lose.
11:40You can't lose at home to the previously winless Miami Dolphins, who didn't have a lead in a football
11:47game before this Sunday at MetLife Stadium. You can't lose to the Miami Dolphins. Guys,
11:55if you can, put that board back up, please. Aaron Glenn is now 0-8 in the division. 0-8!
12:02He's
12:03never won a game in the division. Outscored by 132 points. He is co-tight coaching this team.
12:12Look at the wins. Look at the losses. Look at the feel. And this is supposed to sound like the
12:17biggest insult ever. He's co-tight. Adam Gase laughs at Aaron Glenn. Laughs at him. Crazy eyes. And Gase
12:26laughs at Aaron Glenn. How about the nugget on the board right there when you look at the disparity
12:33in the final two minutes? Outscored. First half. Final two minutes. 107-6. That's not a misprint.
12:46107 for the other team. Six for the Jets. Final two minutes in the first half under Aaron Glenn.
12:57And because it's the Dolphins, and they're winless, rudderless, they're not even trying
13:02to win. They want the number one pick in the draft. Sunday was the worst of them all. Not
13:07only worst loss, worst example when you take a look at what transpired in those final couple
13:12of minutes. And it's a long, sustained drive. Miami has the ball. 15 plays, 91 yards, 838.
13:19They ate up the entire clock! Aaron Glenn's asked about it. Brian Costello from the New York
13:24Post putting on an absolute display on how to ask questions after a game. And Aaron Glenn
13:30said, well, we didn't use our timeouts because we thought we were going to get a stop? We thought
13:36we were going to stop him? No, you stop, Aaron Glenn! You stop! I could do a better job. Anyone
13:43watching this could do a better job. You didn't call a timeout? Understand math and time and score
13:49and logic and how to roam a sideline because you thought you were going to get a stop? That's
13:55absurd. I don't care if you're coaching the 85 Bears. You call a timeout in that spot to
14:00get the ball back. It's called being a head coach, game management, clock management.
14:05What does Aaron Glenn do? What does he do? What does he do well? And I'll be honest, I'm
14:11the jackass. I like the hire. Blame me. Rip me. I'm an idiot. I thought the Jets would
14:18actually be decent this year. You know why? They have good players. I thought Aaron Glenn,
14:23I would have used words, did use words, to describe Glenn as a player and as an assistant
14:29coach, New Orleans, Detroit, as smart. Aaron Glenn's a dope. He has no idea what the hell
14:35he's doing. He has no feel. The New York Jets, you watch him play all of last year, this year
14:42through seven weeks. What's the identity of an Aaron Glenn team? Chaos? Cluelessness? Confusion?
14:49I mean, how do you call on first and goal? You call a run with your fourth string tight end?
14:58What is this, amateur hour? Of course it is. It's Aaron Glenn. They don't play a lick of defense.
15:05He runs the defense. Defense, by the way, should not be this bad. Geno Smith, Garrett Wilson,
15:10who the hell knows what's going on there? By the way, this is kind of a big deal. I don't
15:15want
15:16Aaron Glenn sticking around and the players start looking sideways. Remember what happened last year
15:22with Quinn Williams? He had the Jets flu. He had to get the hell out of there. He needed to
15:27trade to
15:27Dallas. Garrett Wilson needs to be a top 10 wide receiver in the NFL. Garrett Wilson getting three
15:33targets at a loss to the Miami Dolphins at MetLife Stadium is a fireable offense. Like everyone
15:39needs to go. Like this is a disgrace. You can't have Garrett Wilson, great player, great guy,
15:45epitome of class, yelling at everybody because he's not getting touches. And by the way, I'm on
15:50team Garrett Wilson. And listen, I know there are Jets fans who are going to say, well, it's better
15:56to lose, right? Because so we get a higher pick. You also have the Colts pick. You also have the
16:00Cowboys pick. So if you want to lose, that's fine. But don't keep Aaron Glenn and let him just ruin
16:06the culture here. When Garrett Wilson's pissed off, when you have an offensive coordinator in Frank
16:11Wright who doesn't know that Garrett Wilson exists and is running at the goal line instead of with
16:15Allen who's having a terrific game running with your fourth string tight end and you start moving
16:19backwards. I mean, this, this is a complete and utter disgrace. Look, losing the Packer game week
16:27two, we went nuts. We absolutely destroyed Aaron Glenn, right? We went nuts with the Patriot game.
16:33If there's a different head coach, they find a way to win that game. This, this is a new low,
16:40new hell. This is an embarrassment. There's no coming back from this. There is a real case that
16:45the Jets and Aaron Glenn should have been one and done as a marriage together. All right. You want
16:50to give him one more year? Fine. But here's the thing. And I just want every Jet fan to understand
16:54this, right? Woody Johnson is the worst. He's a terrible owner. So I'll give you an, and why am I
17:00saying this with regards to Glenn? Because everyone's going to say, hire Mike Tomlin. Sure. I love Mike
17:06Tomlin too. Why would Mike Tomlin who worked for the Rooney family want to go work for Woody Johnson?
17:14Going from NBC and a great job, which is cushy, as Mike Tomlin said on the Kelsey podcast,
17:22you know, it's, it's, it's full-time pay for a part-time job, right? Working for NBC is a better
17:27job for Mike Tomlin at this stage of his life than coaching for Woody Johnson. Like it doesn't make
17:31any sense. Like you have to start looking at names like, is Kellen Moore going to be available? Is Matt
17:37LaFleur going to be available? I would love for the Jets to hire Brian Flores. He would be absolutely
17:43terrific. He would be tremendous. Maybe D'Amico Ryan's foolishly gets let go in, in Houston. Marcus
17:50Freeman, the Notre Dame coach, Kirk Signetti. I mean, you have to look at college right now,
17:54because at the end of the day, college has become professional sports. I mean, you could look at some
18:01of these offensive minds like a young Declan Doyle or Davis Webb. I'd like someone with experience.
18:07And here it is week sevens in the books that we're giving you names. Who's going to be the
18:11next head coach of the jets, which is why, because he's done because he's going to get fired. And the
18:17only question is when you have to make sure that this is not a spot in a situation where Garrett
18:22Wilson demands a trade because Garrett Wilson is a star and a stud and he's an unbelievable human.
18:27And you better not screw this up. The New York Jets job for a lot of people with a resume
18:33is not
18:33attractive because of the ownership situation. So you better not make it worse. I'd make the case.
18:39I've made this case before the season that if I'm a young quarterback, if I'm a head coach,
18:44head coach in Canada, I want to coach the jets three first round picks, good young talent,
18:49all offensive line, defensive line. The offense has a lot of weapons. Cooper was fantastic yesterday.
18:55Sadiq's a certified freak seven days a week, most especially Sundays, but you have to make sure
19:01this thing doesn't get too far afield. And by the way, we're live because we can play this back
19:08whenever Aaron Glenn gets fired. He's done. He's the worst. He rich coat tight ask. You can't lose at
19:15home to the Miami Dolphins. You can't. It's unfathomable. And here's the problem. It takes the whole
19:22same old Jets thing, which I think is oftentimes lazy. It's lazy. It makes it real. And then it
19:30becomes a mantra. And not only from the fans and the press, but then into the locker room to the
19:35players. This should be attractive to a quarterback, attractive to a head coach. Don't let it fade
19:40too fast. Woody Johnson, obviously, is a detriment. You have to work around them. It's kind of like what
19:45happened with the Knicks and James Dolan, right? You know at the end of the day how bad your owner
19:50actually is. But this is it. It's done. Aaron Glenn, you watch him in game. You listen to him
19:57after a game. He has no idea what he's doing. And I apologize. I thought this was going to be
20:02a good
20:03hire. This is the biggest. This is like a Dave Kingman swinging a miss by the New York Jets and
20:10anyone else like me who thought he was going to be solid. Learn from Bill Parcells. Bill Parcells is a
20:14mental tormentor. A disgrace. An unrecoverable, unmitigated disaster. A punchline. A pathetic,
20:23gutless puke of a performance. Losing at home to a team that's not even trying to win. Shame.
20:31Shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame. Let's get back to winning football. Specifically,
20:35one team that hasn't lost yet. Are the Vikings shouting it from the rooftops?
20:56The Minnesota Vikings are undefeated. They also can't score. It's an interesting conundrum,
21:05here when you take a look at the Minnesota Vikings. First of all, they are the last remaining
21:10unbeaten team in the NFL. And I think Kevin O'Connell is great. Brian Flores blitzed the
21:16hell out of Daniel Jones, who is overmatched. And, you know, this team is absolutely terrific.
21:22They also, at the end of the day, have the least amount of touchdowns through six games for an
21:30undefeated team that we've seen ever in NFL history. You also look at the strength of
21:36schedule, and it's been ridiculously easy. Now they're going to start facing a tougher
21:40strength of schedule against big-time quarterbacks, big-time offenses with Detroit and Buffalo and
21:46Green Bay and San Francisco all coming up on the horizon. Brian Flores, who I'd love to see
21:52coaching the Jets, he's been sensational. I will also give you this, and I think the world
22:00of Kevin O'Connell. They better get it together on offense, because as their offense sputters,
22:08and they're historically awful on offense, even as the team is undefeated, J.J. McCarthy looking
22:15great outside of Minnesota doesn't make the Vikings look good. Listen, there are a plethora of teams
22:22that absolutely should go out and get Jonathan Taylor. Minnesota, to me, is at the top of that list.
22:28They need big-time players in the worst way on offense to give them swagger and sizzle.
22:34Minnesota, we showed you the strength of schedule here. They also need to find their way into the
22:39playoffs. Like, it's not their last undefeated team. I want to make sure they don't go on a
22:44prolonged losing streak. I think the Vikings are for real. I think the Vikings are great. I think that
22:50defense changes everything. They need to get it together on offense. I was really unimpressed with what
22:56the Minnesota Vikings did on offense. Kyler Murray did not look good. Indianapolis is a very easy team
23:02to navigate. They just fired their general manager. That was a mess. Listen, it's kind of crazy when
23:08you look at 20.8 points per game. Think about this. The fewest ever by a Super Bowl champ was
23:16literally that number, the Baltimore Ravens, in 2000. So I still think the Chicago Bears are going to win
23:22the division. I still think Minnesota is going to make the playoffs. I give Minnesota credit for wins.
23:29Not easy to come by in the NFL. But man, this offense better start getting it together.
23:35So the Vikings have the fewest touchdowns, 10, during a 6-0 start since the 1934 Detroit Lions. But
23:43I am still taking the cheese on Minnesota. I am not taking the cheese on the Kansas City Chiefs.
23:51And Seattle beat the hell out of them last night. And there are so many nuggets of futility here
23:59on this screen. And I know that now Kansas City is 5-1. And in theory, it shouldn't necessarily
24:05be doom and gloom and all negativity. I think what's on the board here, and I will summarize it for
24:12you
24:13with my take. If Kenneth Walker III can't run, this team can't function. Patrick Mahomes didn't throw for
24:20a touchdown. Patrick Mahomes threw for 165 yards and an interception. The Chiefs receivers, not good.
24:27O-line, terrible. Defense, nondescript. And if Kenneth Walker III can't get going, I can't bank this team.
24:35I can't believe that Kansas City is going to be able to make a vintage Kansas City Chiefs kind
24:40of run in no way, shape, or form. So I genuinely think Kansas City, frauds. I don't think the Chiefs
24:50are going to do anything in the playoffs. Make the playoffs? Sure. I'm not even convinced. And it's
24:57not like the Broncos look like world beaters against the Arizona Cardinals yesterday. I'm not convinced
25:03Kansas City bounces back and beats the Broncos in Denver this upcoming Sunday. In fact, is it too
25:09early to say, I like the Denver Broncos? If Pat Sertan is back and healthy, I think they could win
25:15that game and beat the Kansas City Chiefs? I think Kansas City has been kind of living dangerously,
25:21living on the edge. And if Walker can't play like the MVP candidate that we saw in the first
25:27six weeks of the season, this team just isn't good enough. Now, Seattle looked like a champion last
25:34night. And that was the first time the Super Bowl champs played like that. By the way, how beautiful
25:38were those uniforms last night? And I want you to take a look at this, right? History for Jackson
25:43Smith and Jigba. Absolutely sensational. And on a night where the game featured Patrick Mahomes,
25:50Kenneth Walker III, his return, revenge game back in Seattle, Super Bowl MVP. Jackson Smith and Jigba
25:56was the best player on the field. Nine catches, 150 yards, touchdown, JSN OPOY. Offensive player of the
26:03year from a year ago. And I'll be honest, sometimes I feel like I'm part of the problem. Jackson Smith
26:09and
26:09Jigba, when you look at his consistency, his hands, his domination, his footwork, you know,
26:14you look at his reliability, his speed, how tough he is. There's a real case to be made. He's not
26:20only
26:21the best wide receiver in the NFL, he's the best non-quarterback in the NFL when you start talking
26:27about offensive players. If you look at, you know, production, results, he's had a better year and
26:35seven weeks than B. John Robinson, Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, Christian McCaffrey, anyone else you
26:44want to throw into the mix. So I live for Jackson Smith and Jigba. Love him. But at the end
26:51of the
26:51day, even I have to ultimately give him more props and credit than I've been giving him.
26:58Love the way that defense looked. Sam Darnold has that one putrid pick at the end of the first
27:03half. Other than that, Darnold bounced back. Devin Witherspoon and company just flying around,
27:09making plays on defense. You know, it's a home game in Seattle. Crowd's amazing. 12th man,
27:16vibes are high. If you pick the Seahawks preseason to repeat, if you still think this team has a
27:22phenomenal coach and great playmakers and a plan on offense, that was your night last night. I mean,
27:29this was not even a fair fight. And I like Seattle to win and cover the spread. This was destruction.
27:35This was an ass kicking. Patrick Mahomes and Kenneth Walker III, they couldn't do a damn thing.
27:41Jackson Smith and Jigba and company wouldn't let them. That was a phenomenal Sunday night football
27:47performance by the Super Bowl champs. The Niners lost yesterday in Atlanta. And we said that this
27:55was a game that, frankly, I would never put any money on because at the end of the day,
28:01tough week for San Francisco. You know, really didn't have any healthy wide receivers. And this
28:07is not an excuse in any way, shape, or form. Short week. They had a Monday night game. They go
28:11from
28:11San Francisco to Atlanta. Here's what I'm going to do. And this is such an amazing graphic.
28:16That we put together. It's why you can't go nuts in any negative way if you're a fan of the
28:24San
28:24Francisco 49ers. This team is now 6-1, still on track to ultimately get the division title,
28:34the one seed, be better than the Rams and the Seahawks, have the NFC run through San Francisco.
28:41They just have to get healthier. Brock Purdy did not play well. This obviously is going to impact
28:47him when you start talking about MVP rankings. By the way, what a week for Josh Allen. He didn't
28:52even play. Walker was terrible. Purdy was terrible. The season ended today. It doesn't. I'd vote Josh
28:59Allen for NFL MVP. That's why I got to be careful in all this conversation week to week. But it
29:04makes
29:04great fodder and theater. And I love it. The Atlanta Falcons deserve credit. I think Atlanta's
29:10really good. Michael Penix Jr. has raised his game. I know the result in the Bucs-Panthers game. Tampa
29:15had a nice win. I don't care. Atlanta's 3-3. They have more upside than anybody else in the division.
29:20Panthers looked awful. Saints lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Paris. And I think the Falcons will be
29:27able to move on and get another win when they have the Buccaneers next week. But this was
29:33a loss where, you know, you credit Atlanta. They're making great plays on defense. Purdy didn't
29:37play well. There were no healthy wide receivers. So whatever you do, and I'm going to just trust
29:44that your football and sports knowledge is too strong for anything that's subject to hyperbole.
29:48This was a loss. Niners were never going to go undefeated. At the end of the day, San Francisco
29:56to me is still the team to beat and the most impressive team in the NFC. I don't move Minnesota
30:03ahead of the 49ers. The Niners, they're going to start getting some bodies back. They're brilliantly
30:09coached under Kyle Shanahan. I watched that game. Bates in the defense making plays. That diving
30:14interception was unbelievable. Panics was great. Pits was great. London was great. I can do nothing
30:21here but praise Atlanta, not criticize or downgrade San Francisco. Meanwhile, we should be talking
30:29about a hard-nosed divisional rival smash-mouth football game between the Packers and the Lions.
30:34Instead, we're talking about the refs. I'm not a big fan of the refs right now. I don't think it's
30:41great officiating, if I'm being completely honest. I think it's bullshit a lot of the times.
30:46I thought there were some tough calls, but it is what it is.
30:53So, I don't like that. I don't like any of that. I especially, and you want, if you're
31:00the X-Man, if you're McKinney, you want to, you know, get angry because your unit was penalized
31:06and it shouldn't have been the case, fine. You want to start talking about all the bad
31:11plays and the officiating and all the times that Tom Brady went nuts and the refs were
31:16throwing flags left and right, fine. That's fine. Matt LaFleur should not be doing that.
31:22Matt LaFleur should not be blaming the refs for ultimately losing that game. And that's one
31:28of those games where the refs of the story, I can't believe that all these calls, which
31:32is absolutely erroneous. Look, the one at the end was the worst more than anything else,
31:37right? I thought that was complete garbage and Tom Brady went absolutely crazy. The Brooks
31:44roughing the passer, the late hit on Goff. But we have a plethora of plays here of all
31:49the buffoonery, the shenanigans, just how atrocious Dean Blandino is getting his money worth on
31:55the NFL on Fox. I mean, nobody could believe that they were throwing all these flags. But
32:01here's what's crazy about that game, because we love that game. Talked about it all week
32:05on Shine Time. Absolutely incredible. I know the Lions technically won the game. I don't
32:12think anybody won the game. You watch that game. I thought the Packers left plays on the
32:16field. I thought Dan Campbell couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. And unless you're
32:21Jared Goff, I don't look at anyone or anything that was a positive at the end of that game.
32:27Seriously, Dan Campbell on fourth and one owned 24, just under five minutes to play. I honestly,
32:34I tweeted this in real time at Adam Shine. I thought something was wrong with him. I was
32:39worried about his health. Seriously, why would you go for it? And before anyone says in the
32:44YouTube comments, I'm getting into my mentions on social media, on X, on Instagram, and Adam
32:49Shine, I don't want to hear why they won the game. I don't want to hear Mike Tomlin defended
32:55it. There's no defending going for it on your own 24 and fourth and one under five minutes
33:01to play.
33:03Josh Jacobs dropped a touchdown pass in his hands. Jordan Love hit him perfectly on the
33:10ensuing short drive. And then after a drop touchdown, smack the kicker missed another kick.
33:17Smack, smack, smack him in the face. What the hell was that? So then I think we can start
33:24talking about the defense and then the officiating and obviously the roughing the pass for Carl
33:29Brooks. That was a terrible call. Absolutely horrendous. But how many times did the Packers
33:34leave points on the field? How many damn times? The officiating was brutal. Officiating was terrible.
33:41But honestly, it was a dreadful game. Dreadful from the perspective that both coaches failed
33:49in terms of when to go forward, when not to go forward. LaFleur not kicking field goals. That
33:54was absurd. And LaFleur, who I love, I think LaFleur is unbelievable. It drives me nuts when
33:59the Packers fans got on him. LaFleur blaming the refs after the game, not talking about the
34:04three touchdowns they dropped, not talking about not making enough plays on defense, not
34:09talking about special teams and the kicker can't make a kick of his life dependent on
34:12it. That's a joke. That's an absolute joke. But Dan Campbell, I know his team won. Please.
34:19I hope Minnesota kicks their ass coming up on Sunday. Because there's not a Lions fan alive
34:26who looks at this and says, we're back. If anything, when you look at where the Vikings
34:30are in the standings, where the Bears are in the standings, I don't think either the
34:34Lions or the Green Bay Packers make the playoffs. I mean, I just, I don't trust either team.
34:40Green Bay has the gift of the schedule. It's a short week, but they have the Panthers
34:43coming up on Thursday. We'll see if, you know, Matt LaFleur is still blaming the refs before
34:47we make a prediction on that game. And I think the Lions will absolutely lose to the Minnesota
34:53Vikings because Kevin O'Connell is a much better coach than Dan Campbell. I mean, that game,
34:57signature game, NFL and Fox, Burkhardt and Brady, and there are too many flags, too many
35:02bad calls, too much nonsense, too much garbage. I mean, Green Bay, we showed you that play,
35:08jumped on that four, on third down. I mean, in the neutral zone, the entire team started
35:14dancing. That was my favorite thing. They were celebrating like they won the Super Bowl. By the
35:18way, I loved it. It was unbelievable. That was my favorite fun moment. I'm in Ross St.
35:22Brown, Bray Sewell, Jameer Gibbs. Everyone's dancing. Looked like the Shine Time production
35:27meeting. We all get together, all happy to see each other. Great vibes, baby. Can't get
35:31enough, but not watching that game. Listen, I don't want to hear about the officiating.
35:36There was some bad play in that ball game yesterday.
35:39We love each other, man. We got respect for each other. Let's keep going, man.
35:43Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Party at Deshaun's?
35:48Yeah.
35:53Yeah. All the Browns do, find a way to win. Break up the Browns, baby. All Cleveland does,
35:59find a way to win games. And hey, let's give Deshaun Watson some credit. Deshaun Watson has
36:06been so tough and so clutch. Final two minutes of games. And he deserves a lot of credit.
36:14And Deshaun Watson's been great. And Schmidt, the kicker, all he does is kick game winners.
36:20His third buzzer beater win. I mean, it's just incredible when you take a look at how great
36:26they play when it matters the most down the stretch of games. The Browns are 5-2. That is tied
36:33for the best record in the history of the NFL by any team that trailed or was tied in the
36:40final
36:40five minutes NFL history seven-game span. That's a credit to Watson. That's a credit to Harold
36:48Fannin. That's a credit to KC Concepcion, who was absolutely incredible. By the way, remember
36:53what we said before the draft and then after the draft? Said KC Concepcion is my sleeper pick.
36:58We had Greg Rosenthal on from the NFL Network. We had Greg Cosell on from NFL Films. They loved
37:04Concepcion. We gave them an A++ in the draft, Cleveland. They drafted Boston. It was terrific.
37:10Now, I never expected this. But this is why if you're a Browns fan, and I've been through the
37:15schedule with you guys here on Shine Time, they're going to win 10 games. They are absolutely going to
37:21win 10 games. They got a massive game. I think they'll lose in Pittsburgh coming up this week.
37:26But you can look at that schedule and find five more games. We've been through it. I've counted
37:3110. So this would be an amazing season. Todd Munkin has changed the culture. He deserves a lot of
37:37credit. The defense has been tough and clutch. And remember, they were down 14-0 to the Tennessee
37:45Titans, and they roared all the way back. Concepcion was great. Junkins was great running the football.
37:50They have a great young core. They have a great young nucleus. The whole thing is ridiculously
37:55impressive. And honestly, I can't get enough. It is amazing watching the Browns. We have a lot
38:02of long-suffering Browns fans who watch the show. I just think it's amazing because you
38:07trade Miles Garrett, and somehow the team is better. Sports. You've got to love sports.
38:14Meanwhile, the Aaron Rodgers-Mike McCarthy reunion tour took the show on the road to France.
38:18And the quarterback is feeling the love after Pittsburgh's third win in a row.
38:31How about my guy Aaron Rodgers? And Aaron Rodgers is still playing like a star. He's mobile,
38:37making great throws. And let me tell you what Pittsburgh has knack for winning. McCarthy,
38:44Rodgers. This is why Dallas should never gotten rid of Mike McCarthy. This is why Aaron Rodgers is an
38:48all-timer. This is why I told you preseason the Steelers were making the playoffs. I don't think
38:53they're a Super Bowl-caliber team. I think there's a cap to them. I don't think they're loaded with
38:59talent. But when you have Mike McCarthy, you have Aaron Rodgers. When you have Jalen Warren,
39:04who's been superb, and he's been the best player on the team, the line has been good. The defense has
39:09been really good. And they're beating the teams they're supposed to beat. They're 5-2. And I think
39:15they're going to beat Cleveland next week. I think they're going to bank another win. Watching the
39:19Steelers play is great for your sports soul. They're not demolishing the opposition. They don't have to.
39:26They protect the ball. They don't turn it over. They're strong in every phase. They have that
39:32comeback win against Tampa Bay. They can deal with all sorts of adversity in-game. And that's what
39:38happens when you have a couple of rock stars and Rodgers and McCarthy as your quarterback and your
39:44head coach, which is why making the change from Tomlin, he leaves. McCarthy comes in. We love that
39:50hire. Rodgers, keeping him as the quarterback, that was a no-brainer. It's great. So if you're a
39:56Steelers fan, you got to be thrilled. This is not an eye-popping team where you say, wow, man,
40:01we're just going to, you know, reserve rooms in Los Angeles for the Super Bowl on Valentine's
40:07Day. But there's something great about watching this version of the Steelers. It's fun.
40:13They're back. They're winning. And listen, I think they're making the playoffs and they're
40:17going to win 11 games like we predicted at the beginning of the season. To the Ravens and
40:22the Bengals, where Joe Burrow and Cincy fought back and got rights. After the game, the quarterback
40:27was about as hyped as he, well, you know, let himself get.
40:43That's hype for Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow, four touchdowns. He was incredible. And how about
40:49this second half from Joe Burrow in Cincinnati? And Burrow had a great interview with our friend
40:54Tracy Wilson from the NFL and CBS after the game. And he said Jamar Chase went in the locker
40:59room and just challenged everyone to get better, play better. They were down by 13. They won
41:07by 22. That tells you the entire story. And it was because of Burrow. He's hype. He's clapping.
41:15He's loving it. Throwing touchdowns. Jusecki, T. Higgins, Jamar Chase. It was incredible.
41:21The Nuggets of futility on Baltimore, to me, the story. And I have Cincinnati winning the
41:26division. Said a preseason. I've said it forever. The Ravens once again flocked around and found
41:35out this was, if you're a Ravens fan, a mess. Look at that bottom nugget. Highest point differential
41:44in the first half this year. The lowest in the second half. This team has a knack for
41:52losing. And here's what I don't understand. The gym dance was brilliant on this on the NFL and CBS
41:58broadcast. It's 14-13. The Bengals come back. Baltimore's up 13-0. Bengals come back. Everyone
42:06knows there's a pattern of history for Baltimore. They're in field goal range. Chippy field goal.
42:11It's like fourth and, not a half inch, fourth and a few. And they go for it? I mean, and
42:18I get it.
42:19Burrow, obviously, is throwing touchdowns all over the place. But you have a chance, and you don't have
42:24Lamar Jackson, okay, to stop the bleeding, take the lead, change the momentum, flip the script,
42:30just calm everything down, and you go for it and you fail. Let me tell you what that is.
42:35That's losing football. That's a bad job by Jesse Minter. And there's a reason we structure this AFC
42:42North. That's the best division in pro football this year. Okay, not the NFC North, AFC North.
42:47There's a reason we structure this AFC North conversation this way. Cleveland is for real.
42:55They're going to win 10 games. Are they going to make the playoffs? We'll find out. Their upside?
42:58We'll find. Pittsburgh is going to win 11. The Bengals are still, in my opinion, the best team in the
43:04division
43:04with the most upside. Sexy Dexy doing things on defense. He was fantastic yesterday.
43:10The Ravens have Buffalo coming up this week. It sounds like, according to Tracy Wolfson's reporting,
43:16that Lamar Jackson's going to play. I think Buffalo's going to win. Buffalo's coming off a bye.
43:21Lamar Jackson's with the ankle. Been out for the last three weeks. And I think the Ravens are going to
43:25be in last
43:26place. And they're in last place now, but I'm talking about the only team in the division that's
43:30not going to be above 500. And I think Baltimore, if you're asking for one team that you think,
43:37eh, it's going to miss the playoffs, not Cleveland. It's Baltimore. I think the Ravens have a real issue
43:43in terms of confidence, coaching, swagger, quarterback play, believability, offensive line in the second
43:53half of games. Cincinnati was phenomenal. Bad coaching, no identity, terrible job by the Ravens.
44:01Final seconds. Ananobi's going to step back dry at three over DeSilva. That shot off the mark,
44:07and that'll do it. The Knicks start 0-3 on this 26-27 season. A disappointing performance.
44:15Good decision making by me late in the game. Ball's not falling in for us. I think we've gotten
44:21some good looks throughout the game, but the little things throughout the game that we can control
44:27that can help contribute us. Sometimes you've got to fight through stuff like this to get yourself
44:33on track. But games like this will tell us that, you know, like I said before, our crap stinks.
44:41You know, it does.
44:44I guess if you're Mike Brown, it's better to laugh than cry. Look, the Knicks look awful
44:50right now. I still can't believe that they couldn't beat Boston in the Mitchell Robinson
44:55revenge game. And they had a monster lead against Orlando, and then everyone just went
45:01completely foolish. What Mike Brown is doing, not playing drumming at the end, going to the
45:06game. It made absolutely no sense. Mikel Bridges, who I love, couldn't hit water if he fell out
45:12of a boat. I mean, he hasn't seemingly made a shot in the first three games of the season.
45:17Jalen Brunson's taking responsibility. It's clearly not his fault. And the fact that they
45:22had that win, it was over. And they blew it. That's a mess. That's sloppy. Now, the Pistons come
45:30to town tomorrow night. Pistons are strong. Pistons are a legitimate basketball team. I
45:35picked the Pistons to finish in second before the season started in the East with Philadelphia
45:40in first. And frankly, here's what's important here about showing the standings, because you
45:46can make the case, right? Shine, do you really need to show the Eastern Conference standings
45:51after three games, four games? Yes, because in the Eastern Conference, you've got all these
45:57teams that can do something. And it's so congested. You have so many great teams, so many teams
46:03that believe they're going to be on fire and make a run in the playoffs. We kept saying all
46:07offseason, there's going to be eight to ten teams that believe going into the season, they're
46:12going to play in the Conference Finals. Does it mean the season's over? Of course not. But
46:18nice to see the Knicks here win. Knicks in five, best championship ever, best celebration
46:25ever, still walking the streets, still giving everyone a high five, still saying Knicks in
46:30five, everything's still golden. Ever since Jim Dolan didn't have those rings for the assistant
46:36coach, all the assistant coaches, I feel like the vibes have just been off, right? And just
46:44a reminder that James Dolan historically has had no idea what the hell he's doing. I'd like
46:50to get a win. Is that too much to ask? Just give me one win. Just tie your shoes right,
46:57get your shorts on straight. That game was over against Orlando. You know who keeps winning
47:05the Lakers? Luka Doncic. He can't miss, even from 90 feet away.
47:22Guys, unbelievable. How about Doncic with a 50-burger last night? Absolutely incredible.
47:28The Lakers were scuffling against the Utah Jazz, the Walker-Kessler revenge game, and Luka
47:34just saved everyone's bacon. It was absolutely incredible, absolutely phenomenal. What Doncic
47:40was able to do, it just goes to show, 52 points, 8-10. This guy was unbelievable when you look
47:48at it from a Los Angeles Lakers perspective. Told you before the season, Doncic's gonna be
47:53MVP caliber, and I loved every single second here of what we saw from Doncic in that sensational
48:00performance. Moving on to the fall class, where the Brewers continue to play Brewers baseball,
48:04baseball, and even starting to show a little extra pop.
48:10It's a flat ball to deep center field.
48:12The Luka's going back, he's at the track, and it's gone! It's Sal Freelich tying game two!
48:21Brewers deserve a lot of credits, and the way that they came back and won another one on
48:26Saturday night, I mean, it's unbelievable. I thought that the Rays were gonna win game two. I liked the
48:31Brewers in game one. I liked the Rays in game two, and a 4-0! I thought this was going
48:36to be
48:38a classic Tampa win. Rasmussen on the bump, they got a 4-0 lead, and the Brewers got a couple
48:44runs in
48:45the bottom of the first, and they made the pitch count go up, and I mean, Freelich is unbelievable,
48:50and the comeback ability, and Pat Murphy's a gem, and Yellich getting it done, and Jackson
48:55Churio getting it done, and Ashby is an animal as a relief pitcher. I mean, my goodness,
49:02this cat's a certified freak. Now, the Brewers are inevitable. Brewers are gonna win a World Series.
49:09That fan base deserves it. Amazing fans, amazing baseball city, all of it, right? Now,
49:16I still think the Rays win tonight. Freddy Peralta against his former team. I still would be surprised
49:22if this was a four- or five-game series, and again, I was wrong. I thought they would split
49:27in Milwaukee,
49:28but the Brewers, I mean, think about the fact they've been a juggernaut in the regular season
49:33for a while, needed to get over the hump, the way they beat the Padres, the way they beat the
49:37Dodgers,
49:38and the way they won on Saturday, on the heels of how they won on Friday. This team's unbelievable.
49:47What a credit to Pat Murphy. And listen, I don't give a damn about payrolls or market size. Either
49:53you get it or you don't, right? This World Series has been incredible. Both these teams play an
49:59incredible style of ball, which is why I'd be stunned if the Rays went out here without
50:04getting a couple of games. I expect Tampa to beat the Brewers tonight, and I expect the Brewers to
50:11eventually win the World Series. But wait, there's more.
50:19It's one of the few opportunities that you get that you feel like you're truly on the road. You know
50:23you hate it. It's you guys and those guys on that sideline versus the world it feels like, and
50:30that's what football's supposed to be when you go on the road and you go to someone else's house.
50:33You want that feeling. You want that atmosphere. There's nothing better than hearing them quiet or
50:37getting them to to boo their team. So it's just a great atmosphere. They love football up there.
50:42They expect to win, and that's what makes that's what makes the environment so fun and hectic.
50:47Monday Night Football, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in Philly against the artist formerly known
50:52as the Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas is favored by four and a half points. We had a great week picking
50:57games against the spread. We go into Monday night at eight, four and one, and I'm going to roll here
51:03with the Cowboys. Lamb's going to have the chops for the moment. Prescott is going to bounce back.
51:07They're going to play brilliantly. They can't lose to Tanner McKee and the Eagles, right?
51:15I'll lay the four and a half with Dallas. I will take the Dallas Cowboys to win 27 to 13.
51:21That's the show. If you miss any portion of the show, do what I do and rewatch the show over
