00:00We did tell you also that we were expecting craziness when it comes to the college football
00:10playoff committee.
00:11They have, in fact, released their first top 12 and top 25 in the country here.
00:20And here you go, Greg.
00:22You and I agreed Miami and Georgia at the top.
00:24What I did not know was what they were going to do with the two undefeated teams under Miami.
00:30That's Utah at 8-0, and that's UCLA at 8-0.
00:34Utah, the committee apparently likes a lot.
00:36They got them as the third best team in the country.
00:38They have Indiana as the fourth.
00:41Now, you and I can have a lot of conversations that Indiana is nowhere even remotely close
00:48to being the fourth best team in the country with one loss.
00:51They do have a bye week this week, which I find interesting that that's where they placed
00:56them.
00:57Alabama, Kentucky, 7-1.
01:00They have got the best strength of schedule of anybody that we have seen so far in this
01:06top 10.
01:07They got one loss.
01:08Will Stein, head coach, phenomenal job, former Oregon offensive coordinator.
01:15Do you see a difference in the Oregon offense versus what's going on here at Kentucky?
01:20It's not a shock here, guys.
01:22Coaching matters in college football.
01:24But again, now you know the three undefeateds.
01:29Number one, number three, and UCLA came in at what?
01:33Number eight with a backup quarterback.
01:35So it appears the committee not all that impressed with the Big Ten undefeated team.
01:41The only undefeated team in the Big Ten, and that being UCLA.
01:44Sure.
01:45So, Chris, let's throw up that graphic again, if you don't mind, because I'd like to go
01:49through it real quick for our viewers.
01:51So I am totally okay with one through six here.
01:55No issue.
01:55Miami, Georgia, Utah, Indiana, Alabama, Kentucky.
01:58Joe, you make a good point on Indiana.
02:01But we know that this is the way that it works.
02:03They get a scholarship based on winning last year.
02:06True or untrue?
02:07That's kind of the way it works.
02:07You win a championship.
02:08You get that cachet going into the next year.
02:11Where it starts to get a little frisky for me is seven at Texas, who I don't believe will
02:17be one of the top 12 teams in the country when all is said and done.
02:21UCLA, I think, should be ahead of them.
02:23I think BYU should be ahead of UCLA and Texas, by the way.
02:26One tough loss for BYU on the road, and that's it.
02:31Mississippi's a very good team.
02:32What also strikes me here, Joe, is that Notre Dame, of course, is still on the inside looking
02:38out.
02:38But if Miami beats Notre Dame, you're going to see somebody else replace them at 12.
02:44But based on Notre Dame playing nobody the rest of the year, they just have to win out,
02:48and then they'll finish in the top 12.
02:50They're going to get into the college football playoff base with no resume and no big wins,
02:55maybe whatsoever.
02:56So outside looking in, Tennessee still has a shot.
02:59LSU plays Alabama this week, so they certainly have a shot.
03:02I give no credence to Ohio State at this point.
03:04Texas Tech's having somewhat of a down year.
03:06By the way, I watched Texas Tech play this past week.
03:08Not impressed.
03:09I don't know what it's got.
03:09By the way, Texas Tech and TCU, I should mention, neither team to me, looking like they're true
03:14contenders.
03:15So I think anybody in that top 10 certainly could win the championship.
03:19This week's Notre Dame-Miami game is the game of the game.
03:22This Saturday is just the biggest week of the college football season.
03:27It's not even close.
03:28We had that incredible week a few weeks ago where it was upside down, but I think this
03:33week we'll decide it all.
03:34I just have a major problem with putting Texas as high as they are, Joe.
03:37For me, it's a team that I've happened to see play several times.
03:40Their biggest win of the season was a game they shouldn't have won against Ohio State.
03:45They got not lucky, but they won the game.
03:47Give them credit.
03:47They came back and won that.
03:48And what is Ohio State at this point?
03:51So I don't mind them being in the...
03:54If they win the rest of their games, I don't mind them being in the playoff.
03:57But Joe, Texas' losses have been so poor this season.
04:00So that is surprising for me to see them so high.
04:03Based on what?
04:03I'm not sure.
04:05It is not even remotely close to what they are.
04:10Indiana being the fourth-ranked team in the country is a joke on so many levels here.
04:15Keep in mind, they lost 19-15 Ohio State back on October 17th.
04:21And in fact, their victories, their past three wins, by seven points or less against teams
04:28like Michigan and Minnesota over the last couple of weeks, they did not play a power four conference
04:34opponent outside of their conference.
04:37North Texas, Howard, Western Kentucky, they haven't beaten anybody that is ranked on this
04:44list by the committee.
04:45Not one win.
04:46And they're the fourth-best team in the country?
04:48I don't think so.
