00:00Let's talk about that national championship futures market here, Joe,
00:03because you can't necessarily win a championship in September,
00:06but you can put yourself really behind the eight ball with a couple of losses
00:09and out of the picture you go.
00:11Ohio State, monster win last week against Texas.
00:14They're a plus $5.50 price.
00:15The Georgia Bulldogs, 6-1.
00:17Penn State, plus $6.50.
00:19Texas, 8-1, even after the loss.
00:21Like, no big deal, Texas.
00:22You've actually gotten a moral victory, Joe, here with Texas.
00:25It's crazy because I brought this up about Texas.
00:28It's not that they just lost to Ohio State.
00:30Lost to Ohio State in back-to-back years, right?
00:33One of the semifinal playoff and then coming right out of the gate
00:36with a new quarterback in Arch Manning that was supposed to be the savior of the program, right?
00:40Okay, no big deal.
00:41But they lost to Georgia both times they played them last year.
00:44They got smacked around 30-15 where they couldn't run the football.
00:49Georgia just ran it down their throat,
00:51and that was Carson Beck throwing for $1.75 in three interceptions.
00:55Then on a backup with Gunnar Stockton, they still lost.
00:57So tell me how Texas is valued ahead of, like, LSU right now
01:03that's had a quality road win against Clemson.
01:06I mean, we're just hoping Texas bounces back.
01:10I mean, that's the problem that I have with backing them in the national championship more.
01:14Again, like Alabama, who looked horrendous against a team in Florida State
01:18that we probably didn't think would be all that great this year.
01:20Who knows what Florida State's going to have?
01:22They're 16-1, but here's my favorite one I'm going to ask you about.
01:24And I know why the odds are set up this way.
01:26Let me hear it.
01:27The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 17-1 to win a national championship.
01:30They showed up in Miami, hard-fought game, but they did lose that one.
01:33So they say to myself, all right, maybe the quarterback comes around.
01:35Maybe, you know, some things happen.
01:36But Miami, who beat Notre Dame, is 22-1 behind Notre Dame.
01:41You say to yourself, like, well, that doesn't make any sense.
01:43Understand this.
01:44And this is what sometimes I have a bone to pick in college football.
01:46You must be in a conference.
01:49College football can't allow Notre Dame to have the type of, you know,
01:53gear they have and schedule they have and honestly put them up against other teams.
01:58Because Notre Dame looks like they're going to be a decent football team.
02:00They could lose, I think, next week to Texas A&M, Joe.
02:03I don't think it's a great football team, but still a ranked team.
02:05And then run the table and still be in the playoff and absolutely beat nobody.
02:08The worst schedule I've ever seen in college football is Notre Dame this year.
02:12No.
02:13The worst?
02:13Who are they playing?
02:15Well, I mean, the Texas.
02:17Miami's good and that's a tough one, I get it.
02:18A&M, you have them at home.
02:20Okay, that's okay.
02:20They have to go to USC.
02:22It's cream puff city.
02:24They get USC.
02:26Yes, last year they played Army, Navy, right?
02:30Both on a neutral field.
02:31So they played Northern Illinois.
02:33They lost that game.
02:34They said they have Army and Navy again this year.
02:36No, I don't believe it.
02:37They don't because at least I remember they used to hide behind the –
02:40Well, when times were tough, Army and Navy played us and kept us afloat.
02:43So we return the – stop the madness, man.
02:45Let them play somebody, Drew.
02:47Well, yeah.
02:47I mean, they never used to fear anybody.
02:49And, again, you get two top 25 opponents right out of the gate with Miami and Texas A&M.
02:54That makes or breaks the season.
02:56They lose to A&M.
02:57They're out of it, Donnie.
02:58You think they can still get in?
03:00Yes.
03:00Yes.
03:01Yes.
03:01They're Notre Dame.
03:02They go 0-2 and then they go, hottest team in the country.
03:0510 straight victories.
03:06I mean, look at this.
03:07How to put them in.
03:07Of course it is.
03:08Now I have to see the schedule.
03:11Bring it up.
03:11You got the schedule, let's go.
03:13All right.
03:13So they have Arkansas.
03:14Bums.
03:15SEC opponent, though.
03:17They got Navy.
03:18They got Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Stanford, Boston College, NC State, and USC.
03:24They got Boise.
03:25Yeah, exactly.
03:26Exactly.
