Petroleum dealers in Pakistan are demanding a transparent forensic audit of oil refineries' profits, claiming that petrol prices could be reduced by Rs. 40 to Rs. 50 per litre. The demand was raised during an emergency meeting in Karachi, where dealers also called for greater transparency in the petroleum sector and representation in policy-making committees. However, the proposed price reduction is currently a claim by dealers, not an official government announcement.
