00:21Hello to you and welcome along to the Alte Fürsterei in Berlin,
00:25where we hope to see some football to take our breath away.
00:27I'm Guy Mowbray and Sue Smith is alongside me for commentary and with the atmosphere
00:32building up nicely, what a match this promises to be.
00:36Your thoughts on this game then Sue?
00:38Well both managers will be reminding the players that it's important to get off to a quick start,
00:42really attack the opposition and put them on the back foot from the off.
00:45Hopefully we'll get a good game.
01:05Here's how Union Berlin line up.
01:08Yeah it looks to be a 4-4-2 and you'd expect the two strikers to occupy both centre-backs.
01:13When they attack they'll combine and the wide midfielders, they'll get forward to provide crosses for them both.
01:36Here's how Hertha line up.
01:37Well it's a 4-5-1 but I think it'll be more of a 4-2-3-1.
01:42It's become a real go-to for coaches.
01:44The two holding players give them stability and with quick wingers either side,
01:48there's plenty of attacking intent with this.
02:10First kick of the ball and we're away.
02:19Now, here they go.
02:23Takes it on.
02:28We need to be better with the ball.
02:38Oh, what a wonderful challenge.
02:42I think it'll look.
03:02It's been delivered.
03:04It's only halfway clear.
03:19Oh, brilliant anticipation.
03:25There's a go.
03:26But that's not a bad save at all.
03:35And the corner is fired in.
03:42Well there's one left behind.
03:46Still going here.
03:56Chances don't come much better.
03:59Clean through.
04:01But he's missed the target.
04:02Well, he's got to be clinical there, Guy.
04:04It's a great opportunity to score.
04:06Well, he's got to be clinical there, Guy.
04:10Well, he's got to be clinical there, Guy.
04:23And a change in possession.
04:25Oh, sniffed out the danger well there.
04:27Looked like a real promising attack, didn't it?
04:37This could be dangerous.
04:38Oros.
04:43Juranovic.
04:47Now they've got possession.
04:48What can they do from here?
05:01Space out wide.
05:02and they're using it.
05:14In, behind the defence.
05:18And it's in.
05:19It's no longer goalless.
05:20There's the opener.
05:30Well, here's the replay
05:32and it's the way he uses his body.
05:34The defender is tight
05:35but he manages to get a yard of space
05:37to get his shot off.
05:38It's really strong play, that.
05:57So it's 1-0
05:58as the ball gets rolling again.
06:10Not so much given away
06:12as cleverly won.
06:15Well, this is looking good.
06:26Oh, good defending just when it was looking threatening.
06:32Yeah, it looked really promising that, didn't it?
06:41Oh, chances don't come much better.
06:44They really should be taken.
06:45Be sure, then,
06:46when you're through 1v1,
06:47you've got to find the back of the net.
06:49He could have just placed it.
07:04And we're nearly there for the first half
07:07and it's finally poised, Sue.
07:09Are they deservedly in front?
07:10Well, they've been impressive going forward.
07:13They've created some good chances too
07:15but they've just got to make sure
07:16that they're going to keep it tight at the back.
07:25And they might be in.
07:30Possession, change his hands.
07:47Perfectly anticipated.
07:48Really well won.
07:57And that will do it
07:58for the first half
07:59here at the Alta Forsterai.
08:04Well, he's certainly been influential
08:06in the first 45 minutes.
08:08What have you made of his performance, Sue?
08:10Yeah, he's had a really productive first half.
08:14The ball's rolling
08:15and we're underway.
09:54And so the second half kicks off.
10:13And it's been cut out.
10:14There's the turnover.
10:23Can he find the right pass?
10:25But that's where any chance
10:27of anything developing disappears.
10:29And this could be the moment for a counter.
10:32And the attack halted in its tracks.
10:52It's a brilliant chance.
10:54I don't know how he didn't score.
10:56Oh, great defending.
10:58Yeah, it was looking so good.
10:59I thought it had to be.
11:07Real opportunity.
11:08Real opportunity.
11:09Real opportunity.
11:31And he's missed the chance.
11:42Now, this might be promising.
11:45Now, this might be promising.
12:02The ball comes in.
12:09And the ball comes in.
12:20Well, any chance has gone for now.
12:22Yeah, good clearance.
12:24Yeah, good clearance.
12:24Nothing stylish, but absolutely the right call there.
12:28Well, Jeff Shreves is right in the mix down there.
12:31And he can tell us more about the injury now.
12:34He went over his ankle.
12:35He's a game player.
12:36So, I don't think that will take him off.
12:38Cheers, Jeff.
12:40Finds himself with space now.
12:45On he goes.
12:47Terrific.
12:48Going for the blast on goal there.
12:50But accuracy has been sacrificed for power.
12:55Substitution now.
12:56That injury means the end of his game.
13:08He's beaten his marker here.
13:10But that's good defending.
13:11Well won.
13:18And he has options aplenty.
13:22Taking this on.
13:24And the keeper reads it well and saves.
13:41And here it comes.
13:43This could be it.
13:44Only went for power, but he got it all wrong.
13:47It's missed by a distance.
13:51And here it comes.
13:54This could be it.
13:56And now it's too fast.
13:59And now we're going to go.
14:05And we're inside the final 15 minutes.
14:08Good work to regain possession.
14:13Now, here they go.
14:23Well, the crowd is certainly trying to motivate the team
14:26to push them forward to get the equaliser.
14:35Nicely sets it up.
14:37Still pushing forward in search of the equaliser.
14:41And it's on now.
14:43And an easy stop from a lacklustre effort.
14:47Yeah, lack of composure in front of goal there.
14:49It's got to be more clinical, hasn't it?
14:55So into the final five minutes.
14:59And unable to retain possession.
15:08Kedira.
15:12A turnaround in possession.
15:14Excellent positioning.
15:21Couldn't have asked for better here.
15:23It's in!
15:24And in all likelihood, that should be the game.
15:27So little time left for a response now.
15:35Here we can see it again.
15:37Sometimes when you're through 1v1, it's easy to be caught in two minds.
15:41He was just really composed and the keeper had no chance.
15:46So it's 2-0 as the ball gets rolling again.
15:53And the final whistle wraps up a match that's gone the way of the visitors.
15:59Yeah, it was fairly comfortable in the end, wasn't it?
16:01Thought they'd control the middle of the park for the most part.
16:06Has a go.
16:08And that's not a bad save.
16:10No.
16:20And that's not a bad save.
16:22No.
16:23We're timing.
16:24It's time.
16:24So that's been when we got there.
16:24Yeah.
